We were given a room on a high floor after the first night so we could see Tay Ho lake. Our room was spacious with two beds, cleaned and restocked daily. Breakfast was on the 11th floor with exquisite outdoor seats and views. Options were varied with pho, fruit, eggs, salads, meats, rice, juices, tea and coffee. The staff were very responsive and dealt with any requests quickly. Staff gave us constant care and attention and seemed to enjoy their jobs and the hotel they were part of. It is not always the case to see this. They wanted to put me in a motel near by, not even a hotel, motel with cheaper price. I said no and showed them my receipt that I had paid for the room. Lucky I was with some locals and they helped me out by talking to the receptionists. After some back and fort exchanges, the hotel decided to refund my moneys but at first they did not want to give me back my moneys, saying they have room at another place. Bad services and shady hotel. But the hotel understood our concern and then upgraded our room at no cost for our trouble. Even though they had nothing to do with our travel arrangements to the island. Upon arrival we met the manager who upgraded us and he was just as kind as his email. The room had instant hot water which was nice and free breakfast was good. They were doing some construction on our hotel and the hotel next door so the noise was not ideal. But it was nothing ear plugs could not fix.
