The area around the hotel is very busy - which is to be expected, considering the location. But the hotel is an oasis of peace and quiet. We have a family of six (two adults and four children), and booked two rooms. The reception staff were very considerate and provided a rollaway bed (free of charge), and arranged rooms immediately adjacent to each other. Excellent location in the busy Old Quarter and also very quiet inside the hotel. The staff were also happy for us to store our luggage for two nights when we visited Ha Long Bay (before returning back to the hotel for another night). The staff also arranged a transfer to Ha Long Bay for our family in a seven seat vehicle, and it was a much cheaper option than using Grab or a website. The front desk staff were very kind and helpful( both night and day staff). Pho for breakfast was an excellent idea for cultural experience. The location of the hotel was convenient. Only thing that wasn’t excellent was that the bathtub was very old and caulking around the bathtub was crumbling - it looked not clean because it was very old, not because it wasn’t cleaned well. This property was a major disappointment. The room I was given was not in a liveable or hygienic condition, and nothing matched the standards shown online. The environment was unsafe for me, especially as I’m disabled and rely on clean, accessible accommodation. I informed the staff immediately, but they were unhelpful and refused to offer a refund, despite the serious condition of the room. I had to leave for my own health and safety. I strongly advise future travelers to avoid this property. However, I encountered one issue with a lady at the reception who, unfortunately, did not seem fair or professional in assigning a room based on what I had paid for. Thankfully, a gentleman—whom I believe is a manager—intervened and resolved the situation promptly, ensuring I received the room I originally requested. While I appreciate the overall service, I was disappointed with her attitude, which did not reflect the level of hospitality expected from a front desk representative. I believe further training in customer service and hospitality management would be beneficial for her. Aside from that incident, everything else was excellent. The room was very clean, with housekeeping attending daily. The food was exceptional, and the hotel’s location in the heart of the Old Quarter is perfect. I would still rate the hotel 100% for its overall service and amenities. I truly enjoyed and loved my stay—except for that one unfortunate moment.
