The hotel is located near Hoan Kiem Lake, making it very convenient for exploring the walking areas. Despite being in such a central location, I sleep well here and don't hear any traffic noise—which is especially important when staying in the Old Quarter. The breakfast is good. I particularly enjoy the sweet rice, fresh fruit, and Vietnamese yogurt, which isn't too sweet. Everyone from the bell hop to the front desk, to the bartender, to the supervisors, as well as the cleaners we saw around. They took care of every need. Accommodated every request we had! 10 out of 10 would recommend based on staff alone! Location is perfect for walking / shopping. The pool is average, the roof top bar has great atmosphere, but you do have to walk up stairs the final two flights, the elevator does not go to the top. Additionally the bathroom is down on level, so as we drink and need the bathroom, we were up and down the stairs several times. It was fine, just something to point out. Beds were comfy. Room was big enough. Everything was really nice. But honestly that staff is unbelievable! A special thank you to Ding, who arranged everything for us—from airport transfers to local tours—making our stay completely stress-free. His attention to detail and kindness made a big difference. One of the loveliest touches was a handwritten note from the management waiting in our room upon arrival. It made us feel truly valued and set the tone for the rest of our stay. The room was perfect for our family—clean, stylish, and very comfortable. The staff throughout the hotel were incredibly friendly and always ready to help with a smile. We also really enjoyed the restaurant, which offered delicious meals that pleased both adults and kids, and the Solis Bar was a fantastic place to relax in the evening with a beautiful view over Hanoi. The lake is a favorite spot for exercising and picture taking. There is an abundance of restaurants and shopping close by. The hotel is modern and up to date in both fashion and services. Be sure to have the staff book your airport car. The breakfast is fabulous, with both continental and Asian cuisine. In addition to the buffet that is extensive there is also a chef available for eggs and omelets. I booked this hotel based on its excellent reviews on Expedia, and it exceeded my expectations. Shortly after my booking, the staff contacted me and helped me arrange transfer to and from the airport. My room was a suite with a lovely sitting area and an outside balcony. The bed was very comfortable. The staff was friendly and attentive. They have a desk in the lobby to assist their guests with booking local tours and other activities. I did not use it—I generally free-lance when I travel, but I saw many others using it and it is nice to have. They also had spa services, which seemed to be popular, but we did not use those either-our focus was on exploring Hanoi. On check out day, we headed down to the lobby, and as I was signing the credit card receipt, housekeeping called the front desk and told them that we had left a plug adapter in the room, which they brought to us a minute or two later. I have never had a hotel check my room for forgotten items before, and I really appreciated this extra touch. The hotel also has a nice rooftop pool and an excellent rooftop bar. On this same trip to Southeast Asia, I stated at other hotels that I booked through the Marriott reservation system and other booking sites. Hotel Solis was my favorite of them all. We were upgraded to a room with a window without our asking. The room was quiet with good individually-controlled AC, comfortable bedding and fast WiFi. Cable TV reception was spotty. The room and hotel are beautiful, with hardwood and mosaic tile flooring, granite countertops and wood furniture, but the new owners need to update certain things. The tub is raised from its platform and the glass wall surround was so short that we repeatedly flooded the bathroom floor and the space between the tub and wall. The pool deck had splintered wood which needs to be replaced. The staff were very apologetic when I brought up the bathroom issue and went out of their way to compensate me. Breakfast consisted of lots of food options (Asian, Western, made to order and buffet items), with coffee, tea, and juices.
