We were able to stay at the black sand beach late, eat at Hana Ranch Restaurant, and get up early to do the Pipiwai Trail and beaches after Hana before reversing our route back to West Maui. This unit has a beautiful view of the harbor and served its purpose well. The mattress was good. The decor is dated but we were only there for a few hours to sleep. Great view of the bay from our lanai. Full kitchen was nice. Good location, too, a short drive away from a food truck area. Walking distance to the beach and a short drive to Waianapenapa State Park. The instructions to pick keys up after office hours were clear and easy to follow. Only thing that made us feel awkward was a secret hideout above the living/bedroom. It had access to a door but there was no ladder, my kids felt uneasy as if someone could be hiding up there. Bath products were wonderful!. This is a quiet property. The unit is clean, updated, and kitchen supplies stocked, but the night on the futon was the worst sleep of my entire trip. Friends said the bed was comfortable. This unit is good for 2 people max, unless the futon has been replaced. I do not recommend the beach out back.
