Great little stay!
We had booked a hotel room for two adults two children at the Dorrington. When we arrived we were told we had been upgraded and we had a two bedroom cottage for the same price! This was two minutes down the road and a lovely clean two bedroomed house! We were so pleased with it and would have loved to stay longer!

Wouldn’t go back
It was not ideal having to take all the kids into a bar to get booked in. The room itself was filthy, no table lamps and a green light was on in the room the whole night. It smelt like sewage in the bathroom and the heating didn’t work. No beds were made up for 2 of the guests and the pull out beds were broken. The light shades were broken it wasn’t great. The floors was sticky with stained carpet.

The staff were lovely and helpful. The bed was clean and comfortable. The only issue was the guy in the room next door to us was blaring his TV at 230am and then gave me a mouthful when I asked him to turn it down. Luckily a member of staff was nearby and dealt with him. The bathroom was a little delapidated and needed a better clean

Quiet stay in relaxed pub location
Searching for a quiet and relaxed place to stay. As part of a local pub this is a good option. No problems with noise as rooms are based in separate location behind the pub.

The Dorrington has seen better days, but if you need a place to stay over night it’s prrfect. Cost is good. Decent breakfast in the morning. Friendly helpful staff, I got exactly what I paid for and am very happy with that

Good size family room , fairly clean , breakfast was a little sparse for choice , pub adjoining the property where breakfast was served was a bit grimy , staff were pleasant and helpful.

Staff friendly and helpful but on both nights there was lots of noise from council car park next to property. For hours there was wheel spinning cars,music,shouting etc on both nights. Got very little sleep.

We apologise for any noise nuisance. We obviously have no control over external events. Such events are for the matter of the police and the council and we can only pass the facts on to them .

The room was good but overlooking the main road was noisy late at night and very early in the morning 5am. The breakfast was mediocre but the staff were good.

Only thing that spoilt our stay was the very loud music and very noisy guests returning to there rooms at 2.30 in the morning !

We apologise for the noise. We advertise that there is a nightclub / function room. Most of our Rooms are not in the same building and those that are were soundproofed and tested. But obviously some sound still penetrates. We hope that our prices compensate for any inconvenience and didn’t spoil your stay too much.

Never again!
Where to begin! Nightclub playing music till 0200, girls screaming/squealing, doors banging and male voices heard till 0300. Breakfast, what a joke! Breakfast was included in the booking, had booked breakfast for 0845, no access to the dining area as the place where it 'should' have been served was locked up. Banged on the door at 0830, went back and packed our bag, placed in the car, went back to bang on the doors, front and back! No answer, no life! Miserable end to a nice previous evening. Unless you are deaf and not hungry in the morning, don't book a room!

Apologies for the breakfast problem. There were issues with staff sickness and the noise nuisance has been looked into and certain rooms will not be booked out on function nights unless they are guests of the function

A lot to desire.
Boy racers ragging their cars outside, loud banging door on entry, and every evening a struggle for parking space. Spiders in the bathroom, and dirty silicone sealant with mould on it in the shower.

We apologise for the boy racer issue but beyond our control. Parking is first come first served procedure but there is a public car park directly behind us with low tariff and free after 3pm and all day Sunday.

On arrival the bed room was dirty bits of used tissue and cotton ear buds were in the bed and on the floor. Upon going to bed my daughters bed collapsed with her in it. And upon pulling the mattress onto the floor from the other bed as she was scared to sleep in the other one we discovered the slats were all snapped on that bed too. Although they did offer to move us to another two rooms it would of meant splitting the children up which they don’t like to be separated. We stayed in the original room but had to sleep on mattresses on the floor. Also the had a fire light which was bright green which shone all night in the room which didn’t help with the sleeping conditions. The breakfast wasn’t great it came out cold and didn’t get a choice was just offered a cooked breakfast.

We are sorry to hear of the complaints. The beds are checked when cleaned and no damage was noted. We stress that we don’t take a damage deposit and notices are now in place to ask families to respect the fact there are rooms beneath and noise nuisance has been an issue. Apart from full English there is a help yourself to cereals and / or muesli and toast and selection of Tiptree jams / marmalade / marmite and Nutella. Unlimited juice , tea and coffee

Hotel was ok-ish but having our room above the neighbouring fried chicken restaurant and their rigorous cleaning regime made it one of our worst hotel experiences ever. That and the lawless louts on the street outside until gone 2am. We won’t be staying there again.

We apologise for the noise nuisance. The loutish behaviour of a minority in the town is known by the police and being pursued. It is occasional but nonetheless needs to be tackled

Friendly and helpful staff, clean room, comfy bed. Decent cooked breakfast. Rooms are out back of the pub. Parking is available at rear. Corner shop and fuel station within 30m.

Nice hotel that’s got a very lively bar.
Seemed like a family run hotel/bar. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was good. Room was clean and spacious. There’s a bar/club which was lively and the prices for drinks were very cheap. Despite the bar/club the rooms were quiet.

The staff where great really helpful - We stayed for 1 night as we had a wedding around the corner. I think it was good value for money the breakfast was yum. Room was nice we stayed in a Double deluxe.

Very comfortable, good value with friendly service
The very friendly, helpful staff made this a really nice family place to stay. Uncluttered and modern in design, the room was spacious, clean and comfortable, especially the cosy beds with fresh white John Lewis bedding. The bathroom was also spacious and bright with a great power shower. Attached to the back of a pub, it was very quiet, though maybe because it was Thursday night! A lavish cooked breakfast in the morning in the cosy coffee shop made us feel very welcome. The location was convenient with nearby parking - everything we needed. Thank you
