Great Hotel in Downtown Halifax

Posted 22-Feb-2018
Cons: Snacks in lobby for purchase and parking in property lot were expensive.
The hotel is located in downtown Halifax- just off of the Citadel National Historic Site and a short walk (10-15 minutes) from local bars and pubs, restaurants, performing arts theatre, tourist sites/museums, scotiabank centre, shops and the harbour front. No noise from the street could be heard. Room with a double bed, desk, and microwave was clean and comfortable. Desk agents upon check in and check out, were friendly, helpful, efficient and knowledgeable about local events. There seemed to be limited parking, especially during the week as parking lot is shared with several businesses. Breakfast was included with room (cereals, toast, juice, coffee, fruit, eggs and hashbrowns) and was very good.

Halifax Down Town Hotel

Posted 19-Feb-2018
Pros: above
Cons: Gym equipment needs updating and maintenance. Protein meat at breakfast. Updating some rooms (cosmetic)
Location: Excellent. Close to all down town shopping restaurants night life Parks etc...A place where you can park your car and walk the southend and downtown
Great Hotel. Room were a good size and well priced. Close to Spring Garden Area, Down Town, Parks and waterfront. Breakfast provided was very health conscience. Could have had a meat selection for protein. Staff was friendly and helpful. Would stay there again no problem. Oversold parking which was a minor inconvenience as family members had to park at another garage or risk on the street. Late check out was great Rooms were good size and tidy

Nice hotel, poor service

Posted 18-Feb-2018
We requested a certain room close to our friends and they said we had to wait for a room to be cleaned. Check in at 3. We didn't get a room till 5 and after travelling all day we wanted to get check in and get relaxed seeing as we were very tired. It would have been nice if they would have offered us another room at least but they made it seem like all the rooms were dirty. Kinda disappointed they didn't tell us and we had to wait for 2 hours.

Pros: Location
Cons: Couldn't find a safe in the room. No hand lotion. I would have loved some scrambled eggs or bacon in the morning.
Location: Location in the midst of the city which is very walkable. Lots of eateries and attractions nearby.
The staff were very pleasant and helpful, even when we arrived at 2 in the morning.

Huge hotel room in the centre of downtown

Posted 5-Feb-2018
Our room was beautiful and way bigger than I expected, however the walls were almost paper thin and we could hear both of the rooms loud and clear on either side of our room, as well as the hallway noise carrying all the way through the room. The staff were lovely and the place had a lot of free extras (wifi, fitness centre, breakfast) so I would definitely consider staying again if I need a hotel downtown!

Nice hotel. Not great stay.

Posted 4-Feb-2018
While the hotel was fine, rooms and breakfast about average, the overall experience was not great. A couple across the hall fought from 2-3am and the hotel staff and security staff chose our room to confront the loud, fighting man. This resulted in hours of lost sleep. Having our parking fee of 23 dollars waved didn’t really feel like reimbursement.

Parking Problem

Posted 4-Feb-2018
Since it’s located in Halifax, we knew we’d have to pay for parking. Unfortunately, they sold more parking passes than they had spaces, so we didn’t get a parking spot. I’m thoroughly disappointed. We were even offered our money back, but told we could park in the bus lane? Not impressed.
