One of a kind location!

Posted 19-Jul-2017
Although there are hotels closer to the sought after 'waterfront' the Cambridge Suites offer a visitor of Halifax everything within a short walk including the waterfront, Public Gardens, Citadel and Spring Garden Rd (with amazing shops and shopping). Truly a great spot, super friendly staff and the attached restaurant had excellent daily deals and free continental breakfast.

Location, Location, Location!

Posted 18-Jul-2017
Pros: With only about 20 hours in Halifax, I felt that I was able to do so much using Cambridge Suites as a central base. Staff was helpful/friendly.
Cons: Perhaps provide driving directions on confirmation notices - "yay" Google maps!
Location: See above - be sure to plan (GPS/map app) directions to hotel!
Hotel is short walk (downhill going there!) to Boardwalk restaurants/shops/activities. It's just "below" the Citadel. There is a per day fee for using the easy to access parking lot. There are also stores/restaurants walking distance on Spring Garden (and other nearby streets).

Great hotel and location.

Great spot to stay. Within walking distance of a lot of Halifax icons. Breakfast was top notch. My only wish is that they have more accessible outlets for charging computers/phones.

Stop for the night wish we had been staying longer

Posted 15-Jul-2017
Pros: The hotel was close enough to shopping and eating and tourist attractions but far enough away that it was quiet
Location: Citadel Hill, Spring Garden Road Shopping close by, close enough to walk to the water front.
We were just overnight here, however would certainly stay here again. The rooms were spacious and clean. Breakfast room had great choices and the coffee was good.

Well situated, excellent staff!

Posted 12-Jul-2017
Pros: We really enjoyed this hotel.
Cons: Really, the only problem was the pillows. They were so overstuffed that we ended up not using them, making it uncomfortable to sleep.
The staff was the best of any of the hotels we stayed at in Nova Scotia. They were responsive, courteous and knowledgeable. The junior suite was perfect for 2 adults and 2 small children. it was nicely appointed, and we were able to use he pool at St. George a couple of blocks away.

Centrally located hotel in downtown Halifax

Posted 9-Jul-2017
Pros: Location, staff.
Cons: Breakfast was very basic and not great. Layout of our two-room suite was odd, with a spacious living area and a cramped bedroom.
Location: Citadel, Public Gardens & many restaurants in walking distance. Other attractions are a longer walk or short drive away. LOTS of construction nearby!
This was a well located hotel for our visit to Halifax, with many restaurants, the Citadel and the Public Gardens in walking distance. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Underground parking was convenient, if a bit tight (lots of concrete pillars so be careful!). The layout of our two-room suite for a family of 5 was odd -- there was a large entry foyer that was just wasted empty space, a large living area with pull-out couch, and a very cramped bedroom with two beds, dresser, etc., and a small bathroom. We wished there was less space in the foyer and living room and more in the bedroom, or maybe a different furniture arrangement to better take advantage of available space. The continental breakfast wasn't great -- so-so pastries, canned fruit, breads, not much else. It was clean but the finishes were tired. It was fine for our purposes, as a "home base" for visiting attractions in the area but of the four hotels we stayed in over our vacation, this was the one we liked least. That said, we appreciated the very friendly staff and the location.

Nice hotel but beware of certain things

Posted 3-Jul-2017
Pros: It is centrally located, just almost in front of the Citadel and about four blocks from the waterfront
Cons: Cleaning ladies should not knock at your door at 8 am. Then if you are not awake at that time they might not come back. Furniture can be rearranged so
Location: There is a museum nearby and of course all the attractions of the city.
There is a free breakfast included. Good food variety. There is a policy that they only charge 40 US dollars into Canadian dollars although their rate is very unfavorable to the customer. However, there are no banks close by and you are supposed to pay the taxi drivers in Canadian currency. Furniture rearrangement is odd because at night when you need to go to the bathroom and the lights are off there is a table or something in the middle and invariably you are going to hit the rough border in the darkness. Both of us had night accidents with the furniture.

Cambridge Suites Halifax

Posted 1-Jul-2017
Pros: Location
Cons: The continental breakfast was reasonable .but always the same hot items (hard boiled eggs and hash brown squares)...more hot item variety required.
Location: Easy walk to waterfront and market. Citadel (free - Canada 150) across the street.
Great Location..easy walk to the waterfront and the market. Across the street from the Citadel. We had a 1 bedroom suite. Suites r always a great idea when travelling with children ...they can watch movies or tv later in the evening after returning from exploring all day and parents can enjoy the privacy of their own bedroom.
