My kids enjoyed the pool table and the private onsen. We slept Japanese style on the floor with a family of 5\. We didn’t have any issues. We enjoyed some adult beverages as well as ate dinner. Dinner is nothing special but it was perfect for us. The staff were amazingly friendly and even spoke English to us. We would for sure stay again! There is a bus stop right outside of the hotel. It about a 15 min bus ride to the Ropeway. We stayed two nights and booked 2 slots for our private hot spring bath. We want to comeback to Japan for this reason alone. But the food was bad. And there’s nowhere else to eat at this location after 16.00 afaik. If you go here, bring your own food. You’re better off with 7-eleven snacks than with the overpriced tiny TV meals that the “restaurant” offers. Also the room had no working ac. Temperature was fine but humidity was 100\. Pricing was not that transparent either, our +1 additional guest cost us more than the room itself but hotels app couldn’t tell to us. So it would’ve been cheaper for us to get two rooms than accommodate whole group in same room. We took a taxi to get there because it was raining but were able to leave by bus. The private onsen was lovely, big and beautifully built. The manager was kind enough to extend our onsen reservation for half hour without us asking. He stayed well past the midnight to make sure our onsen experience is complete! We are so grateful to him. The staff was so helpful and accommodating for any of our needs or questions. They do have a limited food menu at the hotel but it was absolutely delicious! We ate on site both nights. The private onsen was fabulous and we were able to use twice daily. The floor mats were incredibly comfortable and we slept better here than most of the big hotels we stayed at in Tokyo. It took a little planning getting here via public transit but very much doable to get from here to Hakone and onward not having a private vehicle.
