If you do a little walking there are also places to go to eat and even a great little brewery called Endeavour pretty close by. Staff, hotel restaurant buffets were excellent. Only disappointment with the hotel was the beds - I booked a large room w/ western style twin beds but the beds were mattresses on a 4" raised platform Beds were comfortable but having bad knees & a sore back made it very difficult to get on/off them. Hubby & I had a good laugh rolling & crawling. There are really no attractions nearby - the botanical garden is in very sad condition but there is a 7-11 across the street and a great ramen restaurant down the street. It seems as though people come to this part of the city strictly to experience the onsen. The room size, in comparison to other places we statyed in Japan was very large and tons of room. The onsen and shower were on the balcony which interesting. The staff was very pleasant but obviously their engllish was only okay. There is not a lot of activities to do in the area. Mega Don Quiote was about 25 minutes away. There was a golf course nearby but it was too cold to consider. The hotel has two restaurants. We opted for Nagisa. It has a dinner buffet for 6600 yen and breakfast buffet which was included in our stay. Nagisa has an aawesome variety of Japanese and Western food. The food was amazing and high quality. This hotel, in my opinion, is not for long stays. But it all depends on what you want.
