The hotel was excellent. They provided everything we needed. We played Ping Pong and Pool table during stay. Location was great. Just 3-5 mins from JR station. The staff were helpful and very polite. We had great time in this hotel.

Air conditioning is turned off in fall and winter so you need to open the window for air. I got a room facing the street with tram running every few minutes and motorcycle reviving all night til around 1 am.

Great hotel. However the air conditioning is turned off in October so we need to open the window for air. We have window facing the tram and street so it's quite noisy.

Very close to station. Well maintained. Good size room, bathroom a bit small & congested. Since its close to winter, no AC-a bit warm. Had to keep the windows open & loud street noise. Staff well prepared. Great coffee & tea area. 2nd floor sports & gym area was never open. Laundry facililty was very good. Great experience. Easy walking distance to all the food by Morning market and ramen/izakaya restaurants away from the station. Great location!!

Decent hotel that is very close to the Hakodate station. The neighborhood is kinda down and out but we were only there for one night. Otherwise the hotel was clean, reasonably larger than most Japanese hotels, and convenient to the station and area restaurants. Recommended, but we wish stayed a little longer to explore this city.

When checking in I had bad experience with front staff. Also we had no toilet paper, so I went to front and ask for it. They said we will bring it to you. When I came back to the room, almost same time they brought it. Why they did not give me when I went there. Breakfast was so good, but stuff were bad. We enjoy the hotel, but not so happy with stuff.

Great location-close to train station, 3 minute walk to the morning market, 20 minute walk from Mt Hakodate ropeway. Breakfast was also great, with freshly grilled seafood at the tenth floor restaurant with nice views.

The rooms are normally small as most Japanese hotels. Not far from JR Hakodate station,within walking range to most spots and shopping. The BF was very great,we enjoyed Japanese style Seafood breakfast so much.

We didn't like it, because it is not the hotel where we made our reservation at, and Expedia did not point out that Hotel Unizo Express Hakodate, where I did make the reservation was not open during this period. We arrived at a boarded up hotel, whose employee did contact you. I tried to follow up with a direct phone call to you, but the decision tree of your automated call processing system thwarted my attempt. We ended up hustling to reserve a room for the night at the Eli-mae Toyoka Inn. Taking its price into consideration, that hotel would merit a 5 star rating. However, if you allow your computer system to attribute my one-star rating to the Hotel Resol Hakodate, Expedia will continue its chain of abysmal failures that caused us such stress and shock the day we arrived in Hakodate. You can contact me at 81-070-1055-8451 if I delete my Expedia account before a live human being actually reads/responds to my complaint, as is my current intention.

The games area was fun. The “living area” was very relaxing as were the free hit drinks. What was. Confusing was our booking statement said there was no reception desk but there is one.

Convenient transit point
Walking distance from the Hakodate station, across from 7-Eleven. Ignore what hotel.com says about this place not having a front desk, this is a legit hotel. Although a bit dated it's clean, convenient and relatively cheap.

Chose this hotel as it seemed nice in photos and quite near the station. However, upon check in, we realised that the air con wasn't on at all even though it was humid in the room. Room really tiny. We then requested for a fan and staff said to open the windows. The room was really far from the lift and we had to drag 2 big luggages into the room. Adding on there was no space. Placed remarks that we are there for our honeymoon yet the service given was horrible and disgusting. Staffs were polite to japanese but not foreigners. Bottled water was not given in 2nd day onwards as they said its not part of my room plan. We asked where the hotel carpark was and staff quickly explained and we could see he was impatient. Every morning when we leave to explore hakodate, their expression is not something to look forward to. We couldn't take this hotel anymore so we checked out a day in advance. The lady added on harshly that if we check out now even though we paid, we cant check back in. Her tone was not at all polite. Terrible hotel, old rooms, rude staffs,limited amenities. It's my 4tj time in Japan and its the worst hotel I've ever stayed in Japan. I do not recommend at all. Think thrice before staying here.

Breakfasts are served at the 10th floor of the building. The coastal view is breathtaking. The Street Car (Tram), bus terminal and JR station are walking distances away so there is no problem getting anywhere else. The Living Lobby is a great place to chill. There's free coffee and tea.

Great time in Hakodate
The hotel was conveniently located near the JR station, the morning market, and red brick warehouse area. The staff was very friendly and courteous. I would definitely recommend this hotel and I would stay there again.

Very conveniently located - near to JR main station as well as the morning market and restaurants for dinner. Hotel car park is chargeable but reasonable price for hotel guests. Value for money. I would re-book this hotel if I were to return to Hakodate.

Nice hotel near the JR station (4 mins walk). Has all necessary amenities nearby. Hotel room is rather old but comfortable and spacious. Provides a great view. Overall, a great stay.
