Hale Laule'a at Opihi Point is a +l$10+M, one-of-a-kind, World Class, 5-acre private, Estate Retreat sitting on the cliff edge of the Pacific Ocean with an unmatched view of the Hamakua Coast. Hale Laule'a features multiple buildings and structures measuring just under 10,000 ft² of space, a resort style swimming pool, and 4 beautiful gardens with multiple pavilions and many different sitting areas. Our lower garden, one of the four gardens, sits 7 stories above the ocean with water surrounding you. It was the site selection for the TV Series, “Bachelorette” final ring ceremony season 2024 (we declined). Guests often describe Hale Laule’a as one of or the most beautiful place they have ever stayed. Others use the adjective, “Kardashian Sh#t”. You decide your own opinion but one thing is certain, it will be a special place you will remember for the rest of your life. Yes, Hale Laule'a at Opihi Point is that special. We offer three units for rent on the estate, two apartments and one Bed and Breakfast (BnB) Suites. See below for links. You are viewing the Banyan Suite •Banyan Tree Suite - World Class Property Resort Estate •Gated Oceanfront RETREAT- pool, spa, 4 gardens for Yoga/Meditation, Jungle, 2 Beaches (.2 and 2 Mi) •Private Entrance 425 sf B&B suite with a Garden, Banyan tree view, 1 bedroom with living, luxurious bathroom, lanai with sitting/dining and Ocean Views •Breakfast Included •TV, WIFI, A/C, laundry •Multiple inhouse experiences-Rest, Relaxation •2 night Min, 7 night Max stay •Horses, Dogs, Ducks, and other animals on property •No Children under 12 The Banyan Suite is a bed and breakfast suite at Hale Laule'a that consist of a private, gated, outside entrance; a 300sf Lanai that has sitting and dining area with ocean and horse views; main room with a queen bed, loveseat, coffee table, dresser, other well appointed, high end furniture, and a 50 in TV; walk in closet with microwave and refrigerator; and private hall way to a private luxurious bath with bidet and rain shower for two. The Banyan Suite gets its name as it faces the largest (unofficial) Banyan tree in Hawaii where at night you can lay in bed and see the beauty of this magnificent giant tree in lights. Your suite also opens to a 300sf Lanai, the seahorse lounge, with views of the ocean and horses where you can sit on the couches and relax as horses come right up to the lanai to say hello. There is no separate cooking facility, only a small fridge and microwave to reheat food to enjoy on the outdoor dining lanai. A laundry facility is located onsite and available to guest through a concierge service. The room comes stocked with drinks and snacks for your stay. Breakfast is provided every morning on the Pool Lanai. This is a Bed and Breakfast Room in complete luxury. Your Hawaiian Celebration. Do not compromise, you are worth it. While staying at the Banyan Suite, a typical day would start by drinking a cup of coffee or tea watching the most beautiful sunrise on the Pacific Ocean from your bed, the lower garden, or pool deck of Hale Laule'a. After coffee, go on a 2-mile round trip walk to Hakalau Beach Park taking in views of Mauna Kea, waterfalls and lush tropical plants. When you arrive at the beach, it will most likely be all yours as you explore the ruins of an old sugar plantation and look in amazement of the natural beauty of Hawaii. Once back, you can jump into the pool for a refreshing swim in the 25-meter lap lane or play a game of volleyball in the sports area of the pool. When done, settle into the lower garden on Hale Laule'a with a good book or do Yoga or meditation session in any of our four gardens. After lunch, walk the gardens, visit the farmers market, or arrange for an optional in-house experience. During the winter months, watch the whales frolic right off the property. At night, enjoy the back lanai of the main house by the fireplace, or get into the spa and watch the stars unfold. For privacy, head to the lower garden and sit by yourself surrounded by the ocean on three sides with waves crashing on the rocks below as you drift away to another world in one of the most beautiful spots on this earth. Anything you want is possible and arrangements can be made with the host. Additional activity arrangements for guests can be made by host to include Horse Experience, a Land Experience or a Water Experience. You can also make a private appointment for Lifestyle Medicine consultation with Dr. Jennifer Walker. For special occasions, guests can arrange for private parties such as weddings or other intimate events. This property is not intended for a family stay or for multiple couples in a room. We offer pullout couches for two individuals traveling together to allow separate beds. We want our guests to feel and enjoy the beauty of the property; not put as many people as possible in a room or just a place to sleep at night. We want you to enjoy the property, land, and ocean, the Aina and Kai, and let it speak to you to find your Hawaiian Celebration, Ho’olaule’a. • All photos are 100% accurate and taken with a cell phone, not professionally done with wide angle lens to make small look big. All pictures are from the property, not nearby attractions. • It is a privilege and honor to stay here and we do not do this for the money but to share our Ho'olaule'a with others. We want nice, honorable, respectful guests looking for more than a place to crash in between sightseeing excursions, but wanting to experience the power, beauty and splendor of the land, ocean, and surroundings • Upon arrival, you will find the space fully furnished, clean, and stocked with shampoo, soap, paper products as well as clean, quality towels and linens. • Check in is from 3pm to 10pm by a Reception Appointment you must set a minimum of a week from arrival. You must be received in person on your initial check in visit. After your initial check in, you are free to enter and leave the property at will. • Upon arrival there is a mandatory insurance required safety brief and tour of the property to use the gardens and amenities. If arriving after dark, the tour and safety brief will be the next morning. In addition, all guests must provide a government issued photo ID to confirm their identity. • Taxes and all fees were included in the price you paid to VRBO • You are coming to a 5-acre working estate with animals. It is not a hotel/motel, condominium, or timeshare. There are activities going on during the day and night in support of daily living on an estate of this magnitude. • This is a drug-free and tobacco-free property. Our horses are our personal, private horses which you can admire from several areas on the property. Interaction with them is controlled through our Equine Therapy program, EAGLE, and consists of up and close physical ground-based activities – we do not offer riding to our guest. Our Dogs are trained Guard Dogs and are very friendly, roaming the property available for your interaction and will happily escort you to any part of the property while keeping you company. Our Ducks and Chickens are working animals by providing us eggs but do appreciate a nice cuddle now and then. Our tortoise is our sage reptile and rubbing her shell will bring you "Good Luck" and hope to your soul. All animals are friendly and are in specific areas. Our hosts were very welcoming. Our room was very large and comfortable, with everything we could possibly want or need. We booked the Bantam Suite (which looks upon the incredible heritage banyan tree on the property), but when we arrived we were offered the Carriage House due to a cancellation – we took it, and it gave us a kitchen, a LOT of space, and ocean views (and lovely sunrises) right from the bed. The property is so clean, well-cared for, and with breathtaking views – we wandered, relaxing in the many lovely outdoor areas, and enjoying the dogs, horses, ducks, tortoise and other animals on the property... The hosts are so kind and interesting, we really enjoyed interacting with them, and they had SO many cool, fun, and fascinating suggestions for walks and activities nearby! AC makes a high pitch noise when on and you can hear everything from inside of the house from the room. I heard someone shuffling with stuff at 6am and things being dropped in the kitchen. Leaving the property was tough as their gate was broken. We would spend 5 min closing the gate. This became an issue when it wouldn't close after repeatedly entering the code and the owners just watched. They however are very friendly. ##### Allison C. The B&B-style breakfast was light and tasty with fresh mango from the property, homemade smoothies, and sticky rolls The property is just a few minutes from Hilo for a nice dining experience and a great locale for exploring hiking trails and natural wonders on the Big Island. The trip kicked off with a fun tour of the gorgeous property, perfect for someone like me who loves soaking in nature. Chad and Jennifer, the owners, were so kind and down-to-earth, giving us great tips, like a quiet nearby hike that had jaw-dropping views we couldn’t stop talking about. The breakfasts each morning were fresh, tasty, and full of local vibes—exactly what we needed to fuel our days. Walking the gardenia-lined path to our suite felt like a little escape every time. The gated estate, with its three sweet guard dogs (who warm up once you say hi), made us feel totally safe and at ease. After long days hiking the east side of the island, we loved chilling and watching the horses, ducks, and this massive turtle just doing their thing. Chad’s quick lesson on their banana trees was such a cool, unexpected moment that stuck with us. We’re already dreaming of coming back for another stay! ##### Aline C. Furnishings are comfortable and the banyan tree is amazing. Unfortunately, we missed our original appointment for the safety tour because we got turned around and behind at Volcano national park and he didn’t get my message that we were running late because phone service wasn’t working. When the owner got ahold of me, he was upset and made that known. It felt very uncomfortable and inappropriate, and put a damper on our stay. This was unfortunate because it was our last two nights in Hawaii and we had splurged on this stay. I apologized for being late and for him not getting my message, but did not receive an apology for his treatment of me in return. In addition, the hot tub is only heated at night upon request, but my request was turned down because they were not going to be home to use the computer to operate it. These and a few other things caused us to never felt appreciated as guests. We still enjoyed the beautiful area, and especially going to nearby beach, but overall it wasn’t the experience we had hoped for and was a disappointment. ##### Susan L. We were truly honored to be able to stay on this amazing property. Hearing of the vision, planning and hard work that transformed what was a "jungle" at the time of purchase into a place of beauty and peace allows you to appreciate it even more. The hosts were attentive to every need---and I do mean EVERY need. There are many interesting and beautiful places to see within easy driving distance; however, it took a lot of will power to even consider leaving this "little bit of heaven" even if only for a couple of hours. To be able to sit in a lounge chair to search for whales and to swim in the pool and enjoy the dark sky with the twinkling stars cannot be forgotten. We were so blessed to be able to stay in the beautiful Banyan Suite and enjoy delicious breakfasts and beautiful views on the Seahorse Lanai. Many, many thanks to Chad and Jennifer. ##### Janis B.
