Private Deluxe Lakeside Cottage, Fishing, Snowmobiling, Hunting, Boats, Hot Tub

A deluxe cottage, apart of a quaint resort, with a private hot tub, dock and privacy fence right on the shore of a beautiful spring fed lake. Great for all water sports. Relax by your smokeless campfire and picnic table with a fresh caught fish on your charcoal grill. Snowmobile right off our property (or on the lake) right onto state trails, also used for bicycles, dirt bikes and 4x4s. This is a favorite area for hunters, perfect for family gatherings and romantic getaways. We are pet friendly with a pet fee of $20 pet pet/ per stay.
Luxury beds wait for you at the end of a long day of adventure. We do have TV and WiFi. Linens provided. Pots and pans, silverware and dishware also provided.
Includes coffee maker , microwave , toaster , stove, oven and refrigerator
The shower has an endless supply of hot water with our new tankless hot water heaters for those sore muscles after all your fun activities.

Rustic cabin
It was a great stay at this little cabin. Used the charcoal grill but with the weather didn’t get to take advantage of the hot tub or the lake. Wonderful spot.

When I arrived the first day I noticed the windows next to the front door had a crack in it, I assumed they already knew about it and because it didn’t affect my stay I didn’t mention it. After check out they are trying to charge me for the window. If you are going to stay here I highly recommend pictures or video of the entire place. Also they had given the door code to other people who actively put the code in and tried to entire the cabin I was in. I would strongly recommend staying somewhere else.

Before we even left our home, I texted the owner and asked about bringing an electric motor and battery as the post on Expedia said these items would be furnished. The owner said we probably should bring a battery, which we did. However, we found on arrival that for the five cabins, there was only one non-leaking boat we could take out on the lake and the owner didn't have a working electric motor. (I noticed later in the week the info about specific items, such as motor and enough boats for each cabin, was missing from the Expedia/VRBO websites' postings.) It took several days and multiple texts to the owner before he brought us a working motor. Our reservation was for cabin 5, but we were placed in cabin 3 as there were issues with 5's pipes. This meant that we did not have two queen beds as promised; we had one queen in a bedroom and twin beds in the other. In the cabin itself, electric receptacles weren't screwed in properly and, as a result, would come out when things were unplugged. In one bedroom, a lamp's switch didn't work and only turned on or off when plugged in or out. There weren't enough towels for four people, so we had to text him about that. The refrigerator took over 24 hours to begin chilling items in it. The furnace didn't work until we texted him about the pilot light. Finally, the owner told us upon arrival that he owned the place for 15 days and man, he probably didn't know what he was getting into when he signed the mortgage papers.

Pretty view lakeside cottage
We enjoyed our week at the cottage. Very pieceful and has a beautiful view of Big Shag Lake from cottage 5. Was the most private of the cottages. Having row boats and a paddle boat to use was great!! Short drive back into woods gps doesn't quite cooperate but we did find it.

VRBO From Hell
The house smelled of gas. The furnace was rattling loudly and was duck taped to keep it together. It was only in the 50’s in the room during a snowstorm. The drawers in the kitchen were all broke and hard to open. The air conditioner was still in the window. We called and emailed the owner about our concerns and he didn’t contact us for 2 hours stranded in a snowstorm, 8 hours from home. After 2 days of emails he only gave us back $260 out of the $600 we paid. This place was not safe to stay at. It was the worst experience of our lives. The cottages it should be condemned.

Great Stay
Great location by Quinn. Kitchen sink had issues, very low pressure, water squirting out in weird direction. Being able to park closer to Canaan would be a plus when you have dogs.
