I've been staying overnight in Frankfurt on my many European travels, and usually choose one of the hotels near the train station. This hotel is not as close to the Hauptbahnhof as many others I've stayed in previously, but I didn't mind the extra walk. There is a U-Bahn station a couple of blocks away, and the Skyline shopping mall just around the corner.
It is a new hotel and it still has the "new building" smell. The rooms are quite spacious (for European standards) and clean. The bed was comfy, and the street noise level is very low, which made for a nice sleep. WiFi worked well, although the Internet connection was noticeably slowing down at times.
Overall, I quite liked this hotel and will be staying there in the future.
The hotel wall conveniently located close to the main train station. I arrived very early and they kept my luggage until I checked. They let me check in at 12:00 noon which was quite helpful. The staff was very friendly, courteous and helpful. They were knowledgeable and provided annotated maps.
The hotel was clean, modern and well equipment with comfortable beds. The towels were of a generous size and they even provided face cloths which you rarely see in Europe
The Steigenberger Metropolitan was a very good hotel, quite centrally located, so that we could walk to the shops in either direction. The staff were very helpful in giving us directions and friendly. The breakfast included was pretty good and they always obliged us and made Omelettes or Eggs Benedict etc. The rooms were clean and modern and more than adequate. There was free internet, so that was a great too.
We missed the bus, so walked to the hotel from the train station: a solid 15min. The room we were in was well setup. There is a grocery store, and several little stores and restaurants within a couple blocks, but it is a little removed from things, in that you need to walk (or bus) back to the train station in order to connect to the rest of Frankfurt.
