Look, the place had a bed and pillows, so it met the basic requirement of a hotel room. And frankly, I’m not picky when it comes to catching some zzzs. However, the sheets didn’t match, the decor was concerning at best, cosmetic issues hit you everywhere you look, and the bathroom was so small that the door had a notch cut in it so it could close around the toilet bowl. Most of these are basic expectations I never thought I’d be explaining in a review. For $80 a night, you can do better.

The owner was very nice and promply took care of all concerns. The only thing was that even though the website said they provided breakfast, there was no breakfast. They said it was due to it being a slow time of year. We had planned on the complementary breakfast as part of our meals budget.

A Good Stay.
I went up to Gunnison to visit friends and take photos of the aspens during fall the room was nice they would not let me check in till 230 even though they were not busy, I asked to stay an additional night they said I would have to move rooms. I was trying to avoid re-packing all my things and going to another room so I chose not to stay, once I was leaving, I was told they made accommodations for me to stay in the same room too late. I already packed up and loaded up in my car. Other than that it was a good clean room.

The service and staff were great. Room was clean. Unfortunately there was no battery in the smoke alarm, the ac unit would only work if you hit the reset button, then to turn it off you needed to trip the test button on the plug. As I was walking in the bathroom I stepped on a staple from the carpet strip. I told the staff the day we checked out and she said she was closing the room until it was all fixed. I wish the staff would have caught it before I had to! $190 for a room in that condition a little hard to accept.

Overpriced and no working Wi-Fi
Overpriced for the condition of the room which had old, dingy carpet that smelled. The Wi-Fi did not work for the five days I was there. When I told the front desk they insisted it worked fine and then told me to go to the lobby to use the Wi-Fi.

Way overpriced.
The grounds were nicely kept and person working there was great! The room was clean. We stayed in the "family" room, that has 1 queen and 3 twin beds. Even though the place was clean, it is old and outdated. All beds were very uncomfortable. The A/C was cold in the main area, but it didn't cool the area with the queen bed very well, and the TV couldn't go very loud. You couldn't hear it at all, if the A/C was running. This is the type of place you would expect to pay $60 per night for, and we were charged $300 per night. Other rooms in the area were just as expensive. People are clearly raising their prices to take advantage of those who want to vacation in Colorado. The prices go way down after summer is gone. I feel that $20-$30/night more, in the summer, would be plenty to charge extra, for the supply and demand. Charging $240/night more, in the summer, is just pure robery. Some places were charging up over $1,000/night (for places that would usually be around $300/night). This is new in Colorado. Places to stay didn't used to be this expensive. I don't feel that its right to charge so much more, just because people will pay that much. Just be warned that you aren't getting a room worth what they are charging you. This is the equivalent of getting a cheap motel room, back in the 1980's (with a better TV and it has wifi). That is all you should expect out of this place.

No one at front counter to check me in. I had to call 2 different cell phone numbers posted at the front desk before I got ahold of someone. A few minutes later, a young man showed up and eventually got me checked in but it was quite inefficient. The room was ok

We stayed one night on our way through Gunnison. Our room was clean & the bed was very comfortable. The customer service was excellent. We had a couple questions about using the AC & tv and the front desk was quick to help, friendly, and professional. This motel is clean, comfortable, and in a great location.

This motel was a real letdown, especially considering the price point. The room was clean, but it was exceptionally small, noisy, and outdated. I returned to the front desk literally within minutes of checking in to express my dissatisfaction and request a refund (something I’ve never had to consider doing in my abundant travels) but got nothing but roadblocks and excuses. The gentleman at the front desk was polite, just completely unforgiving/unwavering and would not issue even a partial refund.
