![The famous pink lakes of Mexico, Rio Lagartos. A magical sight! Pink waters and blue sky, It was like sunset reversed; a feast for eyes! There are plenty of colorful salt lakes near Las Coloradas/Rio Lagartos in the Yucatan peninsula. It is just 2 hours drive away from Chichén Itzá and around 3 hours from Cancun. Public transport is scarce in this part of Mexico. 
We took a rental car and it was an easy and comfortable journey for us :) Once we reached Las Coloradas, we were welcomed by giant white salt mountains. After driving around the salt mountains for some time, we finally found someone local who took us to this beautiful private salt lake.

"I have mixed feelings about my stay at this Hilton. While there were definitely some positive aspects, there are also areas that could be improved. The bell staff and the team assisting on the beach were consistently kind, attentive, and helpful, which I truly appreciated. However, the front desk experience felt less warm and could benefit from a more welcoming approach. The beach itself was not as nice as expected, and the number of amenities felt somewhat limited considering the number of guests at the resort. At times, it felt a bit crowded. As for the dining experience, the buffet offered a decent variety, but it lacked a “wow” factor and didn’t stand out compared to other resorts. Overall, it was a good stay, but with a few improvement, particularly in service consistency and amenities, it could be a much better experience."

"This is a very nice hotel. Comfortable spacious rooms, large clean bathroom with good shower and plenty of hot water. Great swimming pool and spectacular beach. This hotel is located in a quieter area at the southern end of the main beach. There is a very cheap and regular bus service outside the hotel if you want to go out for more action. Breakfast at the hotel was excellent with plenty of choice. The hotel restaurants were also really good."
