![The famous pink lakes of Mexico, Rio Lagartos. A magical sight! Pink waters and blue sky, It was like sunset reversed; a feast for eyes! There are plenty of colorful salt lakes near Las Coloradas/Rio Lagartos in the Yucatan peninsula. It is just 2 hours drive away from Chichén Itzá and around 3 hours from Cancun. Public transport is scarce in this part of Mexico. 
We took a rental car and it was an easy and comfortable journey for us :) Once we reached Las Coloradas, we were welcomed by giant white salt mountains. After driving around the salt mountains for some time, we finally found someone local who took us to this beautiful private salt lake.

When bringing to their attention it was too difficult to constantly take those flights with an injured back, they upgraded to ground floor, which could not have been any better. "We had a wonderful time at GR Solaris Cancun and Spa. Traveled with another couple. Everyone from reception to concierge to servers in all of the restaurants and bars and servers at the pool area were excellent. Very kind, fast, friendly and they all work so hard. Special shout out to Angel and Feliciano, great energy and friendliness.We already miss you guys! Food was great, lots of choices and fresh and delicious. During our 1 week stay, we had 3 dinners at specialty restaurants and our favorite was Mexican Don Gus restaurant. The dishes they had were not your typical Mexican food and they had great wine and beautiful view of the beach. As far as entertainment, every night at 9 pm they had an amazing show, we enjoyed all of them very much and they are all very talented. I can't recommend this resort enough, we had amazing time and would love to come back."
