We had a few dinners at the hotell which all tasted really good. The best part was the staff. They greeted us everytime we came back and when we left and made sure to give us small tips on places to go - in general just made it a priority that pur stay was pleasant. The kids loved the pool. Genuine Chinese style reflected through every detail. While leaving the hotel very early in the morning, the chef prepared us boxed breakfast to go. It made all the difference on our flight back home. They have a nice garden with a small swimming pool, garden, mountain and waterfall. We can have a gym or Yoga session and at the same time enjoy the beauty of the nature. They offer bikes to rent for free, which is perfect for Yangshuo. You can easily visit the mountain or cave. They also offer afternoon tea and dessert in the evening. The restaurant of the hotel is also quite nice. The price is a little bit higher than those restaurants at west street, but the quality is good. If you dare to try some special food, they also offer the opportunity. I have never felt so at home and taken care of in a foreign city as I did in Yangshuo and at the ancient garden hotel. The hotel was built in April so everything is brand new but the style is ancient Chinese. So you get the full authentic experience but with new and nice facilities. Also they have Japanese toilets in the bathroom so you really get the goods. The bathtub easily fits two and is more like a hot tub. You get free breakfast every morning and the restaurant is amazing. They have western and Chinese options. We stayed 3 nights and ate at their restaurant every night because we loved the staff and food. We also went out every night on western street. If you walk to western street- it takes almost 45 minutes but a cab will take you 5 minutes and the hotel will always call you a cab. I cannot recommend this hotel enough. I loved it here and loved the people. Everyone speaks English in the hotel and they go out of their way to make you happy. I hope I come back to this hotel and this city. I will always miss it. Also the hotel will make all of your tour guide reservations and activities. I also used yangshuo insider and could not be happier. It has a beautiful garden with pagodas, a pond, bridge, lots of grapefruit trees with fruit hanging, and a modern pool with jaccuzzi, and beautiful butterflies. The staff was warm and helpful. We arrived hours before checkin and were met with warm welcomes and fragrant tea. The room is clean and well appointed. Healthy food. Upon out early morning departure, the staff thoughtfully prepared sandwiches to take with us. Room was charming and comfortable. Garden and architecture are gorgeous... and the open-air gym is a must see! This said, the breakfast was definitely not to my taste. If you prefer a Western-styled breakfast, you will have toi accept white toast and bad jam... Or a (very) hard boiled egg! A bit of variety would be a plus...
