From the undeniably awesome views of the Russian River valley to the lifetime's adventures worth of globally sourced art, this modern-day castle in wine country is epic. Once inside the iron gate, decorated with a set of cat & dog friends (the property owners are more than passionate about saving animals) Palazzo’s entry is down a set of garden stairs. The entry stairs lead you to a huge wooden front door. The key to the front door is housed in a lock box to the right of the doorway (code to emailed separately). If you have arrived via a Tesla, there is a charger inside the garage. The home is approximately 2400sf in size, made up of two levels. The central living area opens on one side to the kitchen with its own deck. On the other side, there's a dining area and full bath. Down the interior carpeted stairs, on the lower level, is s a sitting room, which opens to the rear patio & outdoor dining area. Following this same route also leads to the solar-heated pool, located under the forest of redwood trees, which is solar heated for swimming from May - October (not solar heated November - April). Our pool is open for use all year round! Use caution as there is a steep drop-off at edge of pool terrace. The lower level of the villa holds the primary suite with king size bed and ensuite full bath, a private bedroom with queen size bed, and the most favored bedroom in the house with a queen size bed and Unbelievable views of the Russian River and its surroundings. The deck holding the hot tub with forest views and a full hall bath are also located on the lower level. Main appointments: \*Seasonal Solar-Heated Pool (heated May - October) May through Oct, pool is solar-heated + covered, meaning temperature is weather dependent and rarely above 76 degrees. There pool is not fenced separately from the rest of the patio area. The pool is open for use all year round. One pool / hot tub towel provided per person. All the beds were clean and the atmosphere was incredible. This is definitely a place I would like to stay again and for a longer time!-Only note for people staying is make sure your car can clear the dip if you want garage parking. We were in a super low car (Mustang) and it would not make it in garage, but the area feels extremely safe and we didn't worry 1 bit. ##### James A. This house was perfect! The view was breath-takingly stunning, and we were lucky enough to utilize the pool because the weather was so lovely. The hot tub was wonderful, and we used it several times. There were seat options to eat for six, and the kitchen was well-stocked for cooking. We were sad to leave and would absolutely stay again! The convenience to Safeway was also a plus. ##### Cheryl F. It has dramatic views of the Russian River, hundreds of feet below, from the outdoor areas and from many of the abundant windows in the house. The outdoor seating areas are very nice, with great views of nature and frequent sightings of several species of beautiful birds.There are thermostat-controlled fireplaces and TVs in every bedroom. There are two larger TVs in common areas, with ample seating in which to lounge.The architecture of the house is very interesting, and it's impressive how they were able to build such an impressive and beautiful structure without disrupting nature to a larger degree. The house has many unique wall hangings and other decorations.Guests must be able to climb stairs, as all bedrooms are on a different level than the living areas. There is only one bathroom on the level with the main living area, the other two on the level with the bedrooms. The street to the house is VERY steep, but manageable by a patient driver. House numbers are not in numerical order on the street, so pay more attention to GPS than the numbers on the houses, and you will find it. ##### Grant L. There are stars involved in its daily use. You must be able to do stairs. The kitchen is well equiped and the pictures are what you see is what you get. Summer weather would be more acceptable than our wet, cool, and rain filled Christmas week. The multiple fireplaces and heating system work great.The only drawbacks are with the sleeping arrangements. One king and two queen size beds. The bedding was tired and for the rental price it should be improved. Only a queen size bed was ensuite whereas the other bedrooms had access to one same floor bathroom and the other bathroom was on the second or main floor. Not ideal but only a minor inconvience.We had a good family time over Christmas and food preparation was easy once you worked out how to fit three working amateur cooks in the space. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed and wanted to cook all our meals and we enjoyed the space and all the puzzles and games.
