We used the Intercontinental Hotel as a place to stay entering and exiting Guatemala. Our shuttle was not at the airport as prearranged. The room was not ready and then smelled strongly of disinfectant. There was a mix up with the credit card and an employee hounded us about it for our whole trip though we said we were returning shortly and they were holding two hundred dollars of ours. I would choose a different hotel if you want professionalism.

Hotel is very good, nevertheless, we had a corporate lunch on one of the conference rooms and food was really bad.

Air conditioner did not work properly in the room. Elevators were broken at one point, the lounge was closed and there was zero decor in the rooms. Very sanitary, there are other options that are better in the area.

I made my decision to stay in this hotel because the location was convenient and the hotel would allow for early check in. The information for the hotel said "early check in at noon." Once I was at the hotel's reception I was informed that the room was not ready and early check-in was not available. I had to leave my luggage at the reception desk since I had a late evening meeting to attend. This was the only negative issue - so I will plan accordingly for next time. Upon my return to the hotel, after midnight, my room was ready. The Hotel was clean, the service was great, the restaurant was very good, the wifi was fast. The pool and gym look very good and unfortunately we didn't have time to visit the SPA. I would definitely stay there again.

Liked the amount and quality of food options offered for breakfast. Hallways smelled a bit musty, and shower curtains didn't contain water inside the tub well enough, and got floors very wet when showring.

This hotel is one of the best in Guatemala City. The facility and amenities were top notch. The service was mediocre. We ate in the restaurant before checking in, and service was just ok, along with the food. We ate way better outside of the hotel. The staff wasn’t really available to assist with transportation, so we took Ubers, and handled it ourself. The security is very good, through it’s a bit scary to see all the guards with guns. The pool and gym were great! I’d stay there again, but honestly expected better for a 5 star property.

Manager not professional, she lie to us about availability in the Hotel to stay more nights. Never told us about happy hour for a week that we stayed. Staff terrible customer service at the front desk didn’t help us . Terrible experience on our vacation with my family and we pay for 2 suites and dusty inform us we have free happy hour every day for 9 days 😮

Very nice property. One of the best steaks I have ever eaten. I spoke to the executive Chef, Chef Oscar he is a top notch chef. If you order sushi make sure that you notice that an order of sashimi is 10 pcs for 2 pcs equals 20 but they took care of the oversight. Great place to stay in Guatemala City

If I could give more stars I would. The staffs were friendly and their service was attentive and very helpful. Especially thanks to the people in the Market restaurants 100/100, I can only remember Jessica and Bartolomé names but all of them were so nice. The staffs who were doing the rooms were very nice and clean my room every day. Thank you so much for made us feel so comfortable during our stay.
