Enjoy magical sunset drinks with views of the island of Martinique in one direction and Pigeon Island National Park and Rodney Bay in the other. Albatross Nest is our dream home - perfect views, distinctive open plan architecture, traditional Caribbean shingled buildings and beautiful tropical garden. Enjoy classic barefoot charm and listen to the sounds of nature and the sea below. The property is secluded and provides perfect privacy - it is only ever rented to a single party/group. Its layout means that it is equally suited for 2 guests and honeymoon couples as much as it is for larger groups of up to 8 guests. Base pricing is therefore based on 2 guests, with a small daily cost for extra guests. The villa was designed by architect, Robertson Ward, who designed the original Sandy Lane hotel in Barbados. Three buildings are linked by covered walkways around the large, private, central pool. The design is perfect for a tropical, outdoor lifestyle and the pool is spanned by an attractive bridge which creates a romantic environment. Albatross Nest is located in the North West corner of the Cap Estate which is generally regarded as the premier residential area of St. Lucia. The property is a very short drive to Pigeon Island beach, Anse Du Cap beach and Cas en Bas beach. The 18 hole golf course at the Sandals Golf and Country Club, snorkeling, scuba diving, kitesurfing, horse riding on the beach, tennis club and an award winning spa, as well as many of the island's best restaurants are all within a ten minute drive. Maid service is provided on weekdays as well as gardening and pool services. The property has a security system. The pool is unfenced and deep so the property is not suitable for guests under the age of twelve. The property is managed by Kris Wagner who will welcome you to the property and advise on any aspects of your vacation. Kris and her team are on call 7 days a week to ensure that you have a wonderful holiday in St. Lucia. A pre-stocking service is available so that when you arrive at the villa you do not immediately have to go shopping - you can immediately relax, unwind and enjoy the view. The open air layout concept of the villa is really cool the host, Kris, meet us at the villa did a great job walking us around the property and was super helpful during our stay. We vacation a fair amount and stay in a lot of VRBO properties, but I’ve never stayed in one that had a view like this. I highly recommend having one of the recommended chefs come in and make a dinner for your group. It was a highlight of the trip for us. The home, amenities and view exceeded all of our expectations! We felt like we landed in paradise for the week.As a family of 7, there was plenty of space, privacy as well as comfortable areas to all be together for some family fun. The bedrooms and bathrooms were clean and modern with good AC available. The kitchen was more than adequate and we cooked and grilled all week. The family room/dining room is open air and ideal for hanging out. The pool was perfect and the hammock was almost never empty (we were all fighting for it)! We rented a car and my husband was able to get us around well, but I can see why they recommend getting a driver. The roads are pretty tricky to navigate, especially if you aren’t used to driving on the left side of the road. The only thing that was negative was the bugs. We got bit SO MUCH!! Even with the bug spray they were still biting us incessantly. We wound up hanging out and playing games each night in the master bedroom. If you’re looking for peace, privacy, and lush natural beauty, this is the place. The property feels like your own private sanctuary—surrounded by gorgeous trees, flowering plants, and birdsong, with the ocean stretching endlessly out in front of you. On a clear day, you can even see all the way to Martinique. I could have spent every moment in that infinity pool, just soaking in the view.The layout of the villa is wonderful. Each bedroom feels separate and private, with its own personality and charm. The common areas are thoughtfully designed with a variety of cozy seating options—ideal for reading, dining, lounging, or just watching the light change over the sea.One thing to note: while the villa feels perfectly secluded, you’ll need a car or driver if you plan to go anywhere, as there are dogs on neighboring properties that make walking off the grounds a challenge. That said, we didn’t mind one bit—this was a place we were happy to stay put.Everything about Albatros Nest invites you to slow down, breathe deeply, and just be. We wish we could have stayed a month. It is the most beautiful place I have ever stayed, competes with Positano. The 180 deg view will take your breath away any time of day or any weather. Kris was an excellent host, very responsive. Ivy was a delight and pleasure to see through the week. We had Eike cook us 2 meals and they were our best meals, he needs a Michelin star. We went down the hill to Body Holiday for a day (walking is taking your life in your hands), had 2 wonderful massause come in that were fabulous, very professional. We ate at Naked Fisherman and The Cliff, highly recommend both, and went to Rodney Bay for lunch and a little shopping. I highly recommend this idyllic place. ##### Tammy M. Grocery stores are great and local fish easy to buy. Ivy (house cleaner) was sweet and with so much helpful island info. The bay, the blue water, the ships, the land formations, the lush vegetation, rainbows, and view of Martinique right from the personal pool or veranda make this place an amazing experience. The outdoor spaces are the epitome of R&R especially during our morning coffee. Our host was able to help us set up a massage for our group right at the VRBO which only added to our relaxation. The views are stunning from the very nice pool and other adjacent outside living areas. There were several different large furniture groupings that allowed multiple conversational areas, both out in the sun or under a roof. Our host Kris was quite helpful and responsive. We had quite a bit of fun in Gros Islet and the surrounding towns. This has the first time we stayed in an open concept Caribbean home. We were one with nature and it was lovely for most. One couple thought the nighttime jungle sounds imposed on their sleep; I embraced the serenade. One thought to keep in mind is that the roads in St Lucia can be very steep, slippery and rough. Remember to get a proper vehicle or use the nice driver that works for the Villa. ##### Peter L. A heads-up for future guests: the driveway is a bit steep. We managed it with a van, but renting a jeep or truck or arranging a driver might be a better option. Download WhatsApp for easy communication. Bring DEET bug spray—the living room is open-concept, so it’s best to apply it while you’re there. Lastly, there’s a ferry from the south airport to the north that we wish we had known about—it could be a smoother alternative to driving the roads. Don’t miss the Pitons!
