Gorgeous Farmhouse at Ramsay Estate | Amazing Blue Ridge Views

Newly renovated farmhouse on historic Ramsay Estate and Vineyard in Greenwood, VA just outside of Crozet. This 4 bedroom, 3 bath farmhouse was completely renovated in Aug of 2020 featuring 3 brand new bathrooms and 2 brand new kitchens. Ramsay Farmhouse is an amazing country retreat with incredible views of mountains and the Estate's 6 acres of vineyards. It is perfectly located for easy access to many local vineyards, breweries and other local attractions all within a 15 minute drive or less (King Family, Veritas, Pollak, Blue Mtn Brewery, Pro Re Nata, Chile Peach Orchard). Nestled at the base of Afton Mountain, The Blue Ridge Parkway and Shenandoah National Park are within a 10 - 15 min drive - great for a scenic drive or plenty of hiking. Truly a special retreat for those looking to enjoy the VA countryside and all the area has to offer.

The Farmhouse was recently renovated and designed with a Bed and Breakfast type layout in mind. Though it has the ability to accommodate several parties, this listing is for the entire house and perfect for a group of 8 or less. On the bottom level you'll find 2 bedrooms, each with a queen sized bed and over sized bedrooms. Each room has a TV with streaming services such as YouTube TV and a bathroom off the hallway of each room, with a clean spa-like feel. Also, on the bottom level is one (1) full kitchen and a wet bar, breakfast area. One is a full sized, fully equipped kitchen with a large dining table (seats 8), a large flatscreen tv, and a seating area beneath a beautiful bay window overlooking the incredible views of the mountains. The wetbar/breakfast nook has a full-sized fridge and seating for 2. Off of both the kitchen and breakfast nook, is the back deck with a dining table looking out towards the Blue Ridge. Up the stairs, just off the small kitchen, you'll find 2 more bedrooms with a shared bathroom. Both rooms have queen sized beds and smart TVs.

Explore the grounds of the farm and enjoy the amazing views and vines. The property and main residence is on the register of National Historic Sites, enjoy the history of the estate. This estate has two other properties in the Guesthouses program, Ramsay Estate Cottage and Ramsay Estate Carriage House. **If you have a large group needing accommodations, such as a large family in town for a wedding, please contact us via phone, email or messaging via the listing platform.

We had a lovely stay! Loved the location, and the property was in pristine condition. Listing could have been clearer about the lack of large indoor gathering area, but the kitchen area was comfortable enough for the 6 of us. Also the wireless was down for half the time we were there, but Matt was responsive and helpful throughout the weekend. Would stay again if in the area.

Could not have been better for us!!! The house is very old but amazingly upgraded. We only needed 2of the 4 bedrooms and the house was very comfortable for the four guests!!! We loved the location with easy access to vineyards and road cycling. The evenings were wonderful watching the sunsets and moonrises!!!

Two families from Michigan stayed in the Farmhouse for a family wedding weekend. Great being close to farm animals! The 2 calves were awesome, as well as the chickens. While these animals were close by, they never hindered our stay. Great experience!! A+ A+

Family fun

This farmhouse is lovely and so comfortable! Our family rented all three properties at Ramsay Estate to attend a wedding in Crozet, and it was the best decision we could have made. Ramsay Estate is just gorgeous, and with all of us close by, we had both togetherness and privacy in a gorgeous location. The farmhouse was perfect for this get together since it had the most bedrooms (4) of all the properties. The beautiful huge kitchen was an excellent work/social space for a group who love to cook, and the smaller bar/coffee area kept the rush for caffeine from getting too crowded (2 machines!) The beds were all comfortable, and the house was well appointed and immaculate. The location and views can’t be beat, and there is a sense of peace that envelops you. We really enjoyed our time there and highly recommend this property.

Nice modernized farmhouse. Owner/manager is very responsive and helpful. Property is neat to wonder around & see the various farm animals. Location is fantastic for places like Blue Mountain Brewery, Pollak, and Septenary. Would do it again!

Not worth the price they charge

We rented the farmhouse for our son’s wedding weekend and had some issues. First off when reviews say there is no living area - BELIEVE THEM! Nothing. nada. Two chairs and a ridiculously large and awkwardly shaped “coffee” table that you couldn’t put a cup on because every arm slanted down and would result in a crash if your reaction time is slow. The table that seats 8 would never seat 8 - 6 if you pulled it into the middle of the tiny space. Two others would need to be in the other kitchen (why is this even here???). So the only option is the little deck for visiting. The view is beautiful and the roosters and ducks a nice touch but the deck furniture was not up to the cost they charge - very weather worn and no cushions for comfort. The front two bedrooms (which clearly used to be living and dining room) are separated only by flimsy doors so sound is a real issue. They have a real fly and ant infestation - again for that much money??? The bedrooms and bathrooms are beautiful on a positive note. So I was dissatisfied with what we got for our money - beware!

This place is amazing!

Our family has rented houses in this area for many years. This one was the best yet. The look and feel of an old farmhouse (including chickens), with brand new amenities and none of the bad things that can come with old houses. Note to potential renters, the kitchen and porches are the only gathering areas, everything else is bedrooms. This worked perfectly for our family who congregates around the kitchen table. Plus, the comfy chairs in the kitchen were extra comfy. Highly recommend this place!

Beautifully appointed lodgings. Easy access to the various attractions and restaurants in the area While the farm animals - chickens - were attractive and entertaining, they did wake some of us up at 5:30 am! Also, there are four lovely bedrooms and a large kitchen, there is no living room per se.

A piece of heaven!

What a wonderful stay for our daughter’s UVA graduation. Plenty of space for 3 generations - all grandparents stated in bottom floor bedrooms with their own bathrooms. Kitchen is very well appointed, and house is very clean. No need to fight for dinner reservations as we ate at the house for all meals. Breweries and wineries less than 10 min away- highly recommend Blue Mountain for food! Hiked around the property during the day and enjoyed a bottle of wine and appetizers each night off the back deck. The property gave us stunning backdrops for graduation pictures. Matt (owner) was available and working on the farm everyday but never intrusive. What a great family weekend and would absolutely recommend staying here!

We had a magical time staying at Ramsey Estate!! It was so wonderful and Matt went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. The kids had a blast with the chickens and cows. I cannot recommend this place enough and cannot wait to return. My only feedback would be for them to turn one of the bedrooms into a bunk room for kids (2 sets) so that there could be an actual living room in the house. Even still, I would go back in a second. ❤️

Amazing Ramsay Estate Stay

We loved staying in the Farmhouse and walking the property with the chickens, roosters and sweet cows. Close to the wineries we love and UVA. Property manager Matt was so accommodating to anything we needed. Definetly will be coming back!

We really loved this place! The place was clean and the bathrooms updated and the beds were comfortable. It was nice having the two refrigerators for keeping Thanksgiving dishes cold. The photos in the listing seem to show a 2 nd stove in the smaller kitchen but there was no stove or cooktop when we were using the property. Matt was wonderful and promptly handled all my questions and requests. If waking up in the morning and walking with a cup of coffee to the barn to say good morning to the rooster and the chickens and then walking down to pet the calf and say hello to the cows....then this is the place for you!!

Bucolic Farm VRBO with Mountain Views

Staying in the farmhouse offered an authentic farm experience in a historic home. The interior, including the kitchen and bathrooms, were recently updated and beautifully appointed. We strolled the grounds and were accompanied by about a half dozen chickens and one rooster on our walk. It was nice to see breakfast items in the refrigerator- a great plus. It had everything we needed and the manager was very responsive to our questions.

Great Weekend Getaway!

Beautiful property, super clean and close to it all. Property owner was available and answered our initial questions. There were muffins and fruit to welcome us upon arrival. We highly recommend Ramsey Estate. Only suggestion would be to pave driveway to farmhouse to minimize dirt into house and cars.
