It's just about 75 feet to your rocky stretch of lakeshore - it's a little tough to swim from the shore since it has a natural rocky bank, but you can jump off of the dock when you're ready for a dip. You might not want to leave this lakeside oasis, but if you do decide to head into town, Greenville is less than three miles down the road. You'll find all the essentials, like groceries and gas, as well as a few local eateries. The whole family will enjoy this cabin's free WiFi, especially in an area with very little to no cell service. I was very excited to book this cottage for myself and my daughter. We were traveling to Greenville for the Seaplane Fly-in. First let me say the location is beautiful. We loved sitting on the dock and using the fire pit in the evening. The cottage is true to the pictures although a little rougher. Professional photography softens the images. Here is why I gave a three star review. There were mouse droppings in the silverware drawer, the kitchen utensil drawer and the bottom cabinets in the sink area. Also on my nightstand and my bed pillow. I understand mice and being in the woods. I own a log cabin in western Maine and run it as a vacation rental. I have the exterminator come for mice and ants because when people are paying money to stay on your property you owe them a pest free environment. I paid over $600 for two nights. At that price I don’t believe mouse droppings are acceptable. Nor should I feel like I need to wash everything I want to eat and cook with. And I really shouldn’t have to lie in bed awake all night wondering if a mouse is going to run over my bed. We left a day early because we just didn’t feel comfortable staying.
