With Moab, Goblin Valley and the San Raphael Swell all a short drive away, this is the perfect home base for your southern Utah adventures without the crowds and neighbors. Just a couple miles north of town towards the cliffs and surrounded by farm land, you’ll love spending your days hiking, dirt biking, horseback riding, four-wheeling and more before coming home to your quiet, comfy riverfront oasis. Whip up some dinner in the large stocked kitchen or cook hotdogs over the fire under the clear dark skies for the some of the best star gazing imaginable. Don’t forget the marshmallows for the fire pit where you can recall the day’s adventures with friends and family. When the sun rises over the Green River each morning, you won’t even have to leave your bed to watch the way it turns the cliffs to fiery red. Green River was recently recognized as the best small town in Utah and we have to agree! Part of our property is farmed for watermelons in the summer and don’t pass up stopping at one of the melon stands in town. You’ll see why this amazing little town is famous for its Melon Days festival every year. It has its own treasures such as Crystal Geyser, Blue Castle and the John Wesley Powell museum—but is also central to countless both famous and lesser known desert wonders. We definitely recommend hitting up the street tacos and grabbing a giant cinnamon roll at the Tamarisk restaurant. But you can get groceries and other items you might need just 5 minutes away in town. Interstate 70 is very easy to access and day trips to the parks and local public lands are a must. We’ll make you a list of our favorite areas, but no doubt you’ll find your own as well! Please note that this is a brand new home and we have several projects in the works including an additional patio, landscaping, grass, fencing and river clearing for water sports. We found this home to be the perfect base location to visit 3 of the 5 National Parks in the area as well as the local State Parks. It's an easy drive to Moab, Arches NP, Dead Horse Canyon State Park, Canyonlands NP, La Sal Mountains, Goblin Valley State Park, Little Wild Horse Canyon, and Capitol Reef NP. Roomy, comfortable, well provisioned, beautifully decorated, excellent house manual. The view of the Book Cliffs was spectacular in the changing light from sunrise to sunset. The most impactful part, however, was the quiet. No city noise, no traffic noise, barely any noise at all. Quite a remarkable and wonderful thing for city dwellers. Convenient to Arches (you will need to book a timed entry pass) and Canyonlands, which are highly recommended. Goblin Valley is a must. Tammy was an excellent communicator. Our 5 stars rank everything you read about. Here are my special raves: 1) The kitchen was perfect for cooking, although we planned to eat out most evenings, it was so much nicer to stop at the Melon Vine and pick up dinner. We did that for 3 nights. 2) The closet in the guest bedroom is the perfect Canyonlands gear staging area. Lots of hooks, shelves, and hanging space. And best of all, it prevents the spread. 3) The Green. After a day of seeing yellows and reds, it was amazing to come home to green trees, grasses, and river. 4) The house is very comfortable. We stayed here 4 days and were able to visit the 3 national parks (arches, capital reef and canyonlands.) the house was well maintained, had a well stocked kitchen, comfortable beds and being by the river was awesome. The outdoor space provided various shady seating areas throughout the day. The area is quiet with a nice view of the Green River and the book cliffs. We enjoyed riding our SXS along the book cliffs. We did trailer our machines along I-70 and put in at exit 131 to enjoy the San Rafael Swells…well worth the trip! Just a short way out of town it is a great location to see The Arches, Canyonlands and Goblin Valley. The home is clean and comfortable right next to the Green (Brown this time of year) River. The home is compact but clean and comfortable - if you have more than five you will need to eat outside or have some at the counter. ##### anthony e.
