Good overnight stay

Posted 11-Jul-2016 on Hotels
Hotel was convenient for a 1 night stay close to the city of Lyon with transport links nearby. Room was small but very clean and comfortable. Booking in after reception closed was very good once I had obtained the gate, door and room codes from the hotel. Receptionist the following morning was very friendly.

Decent budget hotel

Staff were nice and helpful. Hotel itself was a bit far out. Nothing much around the area. Room was small for two people. Breakfast was nice, plenty of choice.

Having got to a European Cup semi-final I was very surprised to see a room still available within Lyon for €180. Still a reasonable amount to pay considering the volume of people in the city for the football and it was exactly as I expected when the standard rate is €39. Very basic hotel but felt It felt like the Four Seasons when crashing into bed at 3am. Be warned that if you attempt to walk there, you may indeed enter via a ghetto or two. All entrance gates were locked by the time I arrived and I only managed to gain access when a fellow guest arrived with a key code. Resigned to sleeping on the tiled reception floor, a lady appeared in her dressing gown and did the check in. A godsend. Was offered breakfast on arrival and check out the following morning which was far easier. The hammered hairy, tattooed, skinny Portugese fan trying to pick up invisible money off the floor in front of the vending machine was hilarious and quite a treat. He even made my mate Ebo look sober.

Overnight stay

Posted 8-Jul-2016
I stayed here overnight for the Euro 2016 semi final. It was mid-way between city and stadium slo thought it woulfnbee a good option. I payee 150 euros for the room. When I got to the room there was a tariff on the back of the door saying that the price of the room for special events was 59 euros. The room was tiny with a double bed and a single bunk. The single bunk had black stains in the sheets. There was only one power point in the room. Whenever someone closed their door the entire building shook. It was like the walls were made from paper. To get to the city there is a tram that ales you to a metro station. The location is not bad for transport but there is literally nothing arouund the hotel. Would not stay here again.

No frills hotel that took this to a new low level

In Lyon for the European Rugby finals. Chose hotel as on a budget but wanted convenience for access to ground and city. Requested non-smoking but was put in 121, which heavily smelt of tobacco smoke. I requested an immediate change but was told the hotel was full. I can only assume that these people did not eat breakfast as we never saw more than 4 at a time. The room was also dirty, the bed-linen has cigarette burns, the TV showed only one channel (music videos) and the bunk bed (which I had to use) felt like it might collapse at any moment.

Very average!

Very average stay, I would try somewhere else if I went back. Easy parking and easy check in. Wifi was very poor. Room was clean from what I could tell but older so it made it feel dirty.

This hotel is basic but appropriate for the price

Pros: Handy from the autoroute
Cons: Non smoking rooms are just that, not smoked in!
Location: Not much, industrial and residential. Lyons centre is a bus and metro journey away
This was a hotel for us to stopover in on our way to the Alpes. We had booked a non smoking room and unfortunately the room had definitely been smoked in and smelt bad and the bedding also smelt of smoke. It is in an ok area but no where really to eat out.

Exactly what you would expect. Right for the price
