Off the lounge is a twin bedroom with full ensuite bathroom. Only ten minutes walk to the sandy beach (with children and buckets and spades), beach cafe, shop, fish and chips and local pub nearby (families & dogs welcome). Close to broadland villages offering boat hire or Hemsby and Great Yarmouth for more lively entertainment for all the family. Admiral Cottage & its sister cottages, Compass Cottage and Beachside Cottage are all in the heart of Winterton on Sea old village and are within a short walk of the beach, pub & shop. Pets are welcome at no charge. Set in the heart of the Norfolk Broads, Winterton on Sea offers a base to explore wildlife, is ideal for cyclists and walkers, and is well situated for visits to many historical sites including National Trust and privately owned estates. There is also a wealth of family entertainment in the surrounding areas including theme parks, outdoor activity centres, steam trains and country parks as well as many things to see and do inside as well as out. A pretty thatched cottage with parking on driveway. Comprising entrance lobby, living room with Multifuel log burner & SMART TV, kitchen with dishwasher & washer, 2 bedrooms & 2 bathrooms. Please note the only freezer at the cottage is a small compartment at the top of the under counter fridge. Outside is a patio area with furniture and grassed area. Garden is fully enclosed. Ground floor, twin bedroom with ensuite bathroom (bath and separate shower cubicle, toilet & sink) digital television. Upstairs (very steep stairs) master bedroom – with king size bed, Smart TV with en-suite shower room, toilet & sink. Services include Multifuel log burning stove (1st supply provided), Thermostatic electric panel heating all year, double glazing. Bedding, bed linen, duvets, bath robes and fluffy white bath sheets are provided. Parking for one car on drive (note - no access to the garage for guests unless by arrangement if needed to store bikes/canoe). Electric cooker with ceramic hob. Washing machine, dishwasher, under counter fridge with small freezer compartment, microwave. Televisions (SMART TV in living room and both bedrooms), Digital TV, DVD player (with selected DVD's), CD player/radio, WIFI, hair-dryer. Enclosed garden with furniture. Selection of toys and games, high chair & travel cot. Welcome pack on arrival. Multiple pets welcome, no smoking. Please note that Admiral Cottage is a traditional cottage with many original features which include a steep staircase to master suite and lower than usual height internal doors. The room heights are not reduced just doorways. There is also one step between rooms on the ground floor - Porch to lounge, lounge to kitchen and lounge to twin bedroom. The cottage is therefore not suitable for guests with restricted mobility, for any further information or to discuss further please call. Winterton on Sea is ideally placed to explore the Norfolk coastline with its quiet sandy beaches, picturesque villages, bird sanctuaries and nature reserves. Nature lovers will find the Norfolk Broads a great attraction, as will walkers and cyclists. Above all, Winterton provides an opportunity to get away from it all as its beaches and tranquillity are what make it so special. Compass Cottage lies in the heart of the village and is nearby the local pub, The Fisherman’s Return, a 300 year old establishment offering local ales, good food and facilities for families, including a large safe garden. Historic Norwich lies 20 miles to the West with its fine cathedral, ancient cobbled streets and great shops. The property was full of character and well located for the pub (which the property backs onto although this did not cause any problems with noise etc) as well as Poppy's, the local cafe and shop. It was good to have parking on the driveway and the porch/lobby area was useful for coats and shoes.The property was fine for the two of us, but for four people the living room (which also has to be used as the dining room) is quite small. We had a lovely time as always. The cottage is lovely and cosy, a real home from home, it has everything we need for a great holiday. Thank you for the welcome pack! Love the new decor and furniture in the lounge! We love Winterton, the pub, fish and chip shop and of course the beautiful dunes and beach, love the beach cafe too. As the stairs to the main bedroom were pretty steep we opted to use the downstairs bedroom which had a lovely en suite bathroom. First thing that struck us was how clean the cottage was. Thank you for the welcome goodies we both enjoyed them. We did live downstairs and did not bother with upstairs purely down to the stairs. We were very comfortable, beds are very comfy. Downstairs bathroom is a good size, shower is excellent. Kitchen well stocked with all equipment. ##### The T. Séjour de 7 nuits en janvier 2025 ### 10/10 – Excellent #### David B. 30 déc. 2024 Points forts : Propreté #### Perfect getaway Great little cottage perfectly positioned in the village for everything you need......loads of character very clean and toasty warm.Stairs are a bit of a challenge after a few drinks so would recommend younger guest's sleep upstairs or guests that dont drink as much as me lol.We spent Christmas there and when we arrived there was a tree up and decorations which was a lovely surprise Only criticism i have is not with the cottage but the pub it backs onto.....7th time in winterton and the fisherman's prices have gone through the roof....probably because they are the only pub in the village and can charge what they want....which will backfire on them eventually as we only used it twice in 7 days just because of the prices. Didn't stop us having an amazing holiday though in a superb cottage in a fantastic village ##### David B.
