Great venue, the staff were so friendly and professional they really made our stay special.
Lovely pub in great setting with clean rooms. Lovely to sit in garden and have a drink. Did not eat an evening meal so can’t comment on food then but breakfast was lovely. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Would stay again
Cosy character filled pub/restaurant/b &b.
Stayed there a number of times. Always a warm welcome.
Lovely breakfast. A particular mention for Helen who serves breakfast on a Friday morning. She is so friendly and cheerful.
The Staff were on hand and nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent . I will definitely be again.

The pub was very nice, with friendly staff. The meal was also very good.
The room was quite basic, but comfortable specially the bed.
However the bathroom tiles around the sink, and inside the mirrored cupboard where not clean splatters of toothpaste from a previous guest maybe! The sink didn’t have a plug for it, and the tap was quite loose.
Our room was also above the kitchen, so the noise from the extractor was quite loud, and obviously had cooking smells in the room.
Other than these minor things we had a pleasant stay.
Amazing stay, lovely staff, well appointed room, etc. Our only gripes were that it was very hot in the room - which was easily remedied by opening the window - and that there was only one vegetarian option on the menu. But it is a lovely place, and an amazing location for walks, and mooching in the town.

Nice location. Issues with bathroom not being cleaned and no cups for drinks, but staff were receptive when notified so this was a positive. The bins being emptied outside of room at 5am was noisy though. Breakfast was excellent

Beautiful building and really friendly staff. Our room was over the restaurant so very noisy but didn’t go on till late so didn’t really bother us. The bathroom could do with a tidy up. Black limescale in the toilet and bath and carpet a bit grubby. Breakfast was really good with a good choice and as much coffee and tea as you want. Overall a good visit.
I can’t say enough how much we enjoyed our stay at the Nags Head. We had a wonderful time exploring Great Missenden (very easy to walk to from the Inn) & the countryside. The train into London was so easy. Our room was peaceful and a great place to come back to after a long day. The room was quiet and a a haven to get away from it all. And the breakfasts! We tried the Full English which is certainly a treat. Definitely try the fish & chips for dinner…so good!! If you want to have a true English countryside experience, check out the Nags Head.

I stayed one night, a Tuesday, in room 5, the room itself was okay however it was located above the kitchen and smells from the kitchen found their way into the room, there was a hint of it when I checked in at about 17:00 but when I returned to the room about 21:00 the smell was quite over powering. The windows were shut so this came up through the floor, it was worse in the shower room where a section of pipe casing was missing which could have contributed to the problem. The bathroom extractor fan did not work so no chance of that helping to pull the small out.
In addition, the kitchen extractor fan was noisy and ran until about 21:45, when that went off the music from the kitchen was audible and continued until about 22:15. The fan started up again about 07:30.
I did report the problem of the small however they were fully booked so couldn’t relocate me.
On the plus side the staff were very welcoming and the breakfast, scrambled egg and smoked salmon on toast, was very good, just as well otherwise the rating would have been lower.
I think problems like this should be known about and identified by the hotel offering the accommodation, had I known in advance I would have looked elsewhere, needless to say I will not be returning.
The room, and venue itself, was very clean and the bed was comfortable. There was plenty of room for our weekend bags and hanging space for our clothes.
The bathroom was also very clean and the shower pressure was good.
The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, particularly the young lady who served our breakfast, and the kitchen staff kindly catered for my slightly awkward breakfast request.
They were also quick to check whether I was fully vegan when I requested no meat or eggs, as the other items were to be cooked in butter. I really appreciated this attention to detail.
The downstairs door (below our room) clanged heavily as other guests came upstairs, but in such an old building, I'm not sure there is much that could be done to mitigate this.
But because the rest of our stay was so comfortable, we felt it was not that much of a problem, especially as it didn't continue for long.
The cost is higher than we'd usually like to spend, but it felt worth the money for such a pleasant stay.
Room and bathroom both compact, but generally very comfortable with useful additions such as water in the room. Bed was excellent. Shower was slightly annoying as it ran cold for one second every 10 seconds. Nice and quiet when we stayed midweek in October but I would be concerned about potential noise from any events in the teepee just outside our room in the summer. Dinner was excellent the Roast Cauliflower was awesome -so good i had it again the 2nd night. Breakfast was great and included fresh warm croissants!
Unable to make tea in the room, fantastic nespresso machine but not generating water hot enough to brew tea.
Food was excellent and ambience in bar/restaurant is good.
En-suite needs some attention, water temperature in shower varied.
Very convenient for our needs
Overall, some minor improvements/ maintenance would vastly improve the experience.
