Room was fine but the Wifi was not strong enough to make it down the hall to our room. We asked management what could be done and they did not seem to care. Does not seem to be that much of an issue to fix.

This was a super cute motel. We needed a room for a couple nights and glad we stayed here. The owner was very sweet and you could tell he has put in a lot of work into the remodeling. We will definitely stay here again when in the area.

The only thing noticed two charges for the room fee were on pending on my credit card. Today one went thru and the other in pending hopefully that one will fall off.

It has never happen before that someone to get charged twice, and I am sure that we haven't charged you twice. And I do not really understand how you could file a claim by trying to claim as a anonymous person...? Really do not understand it!

AWESOME STAY
The room was exceptionally clean and had everything a person would need, even for an extended weekend stay. Large enough parking lot to park boats, RVs, etc. Staff/owners were nice and accommodating.

Overrated on Hotel.com; needs improvement
Pros: clean, comfortable, quiet area, working TV/microwave/fridge/hot water Cons: Inadequate/limited front desk hours. No emergency contact info. Emergency maintenance not available (one person no help for a flooded room for 3+ hours). Some front desk personnel do not understand English adequately enough for this customer-oriented business. Narrow halls and outdated building/furniture; staff could not open double doors to allow luggage cart passage. Room light switch at door turns ALL lights on/off (very bad when other people are sleeping); one AC outlet didn't work. No Wi-Fi (they have it, it did NOT work adequately). Poor to no cell reception area, zero inside the building. $50 "fee/taxes" per night on top of room rate well exceeds 13% at other hotels. No daily trash disposal of room's waste cans. No maid service in room Conclusion: I would not recommend this place, nor stay here again. The Hotels.com rating of 8.6 was unrealistic, and should have been more like a 7.0 or so.

If yours so much to tell were true($50,13%,3+hours)you shouldn't have chosen to be a "Anonymous" person!? Hilton's and Hayat's offers a door man but I think the rates are 3times,and since you were staying over without a room service couldn't you have asked for a earlier check-out, than? "one AC outlet didn't work"....? There can not be Two AC unit in room because there is only One AC in each room. "$50 fee/taxes"?...if you prove it and we will offer you a refund for room tax and YOURS $50 fees and 13% exceeds on top of it...lets prove it!!

This motel was fantastic. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room and bathroom were very clean. The bed even had printed sheets that were very comfortable. The towels were like the ones we use at home, nice and plush. I highly recommend this motel.

Great place
Quick trip to visit my father-in-law. We’ve been staying at this property about once a month for the past 7 years (with a long hiatus last year and this). It’s generally really good. Some of the rooms have a challenging thermostat (unless they’ve been changed over), but all in all, no real complaints. The owners are both great!

The only complaints my we had was the extreme smells of both rooms, a cross between cleaning spray and perfume odors. We had to keep the fans running all the time.

Pros: beds and bedding comfortable with options on pillows and blankets, lots of counter space, friendly, cleaner than some chain motels I've experienced. Cons: late check in, early check out, very little food available on site, restaurant next door very good but limited hours especially for breakfast.

This motel was absolutely adorable, perfect for an overnight! It was clean, quiet and like something from a movie, think Rosebud from Schitts Creek. There was a friendly woman behind the counter and our check in was smooth. The accommodations were straight forward, you can see the modem upgrades that have been made for a more comfortable stay. The bed was some kind of memory foam which I will be fantasizing about for a while and there was a extra large high end TV. We really didn’t know what we were going to be walking into being that the price was so reasonable and it was off the beaten path but my fears disappeared when I walked through the door. Definitely recommend!

We were mainly looking for a place not too far from family we were visiting.Motel 72 fit the bill in terms of location and price. I believe it was advertised as a "no frills" motel, which is quite apt. Had the basics, and included a micro and mini fridge, which was nice. Decorations were a bit unusual, but room was fine for one night and owner was pleasant.

Great stay for the money
Wonderful folks, room was cute, clean, affordable. Can't say enough good about Douglas, the gentleman running the desk when I was there. Very kind, helpful, quick to assist. Grayling is a nice town to outfit for river sports or hike the Huron Nat'l Forest a few minutes east of town. It's also an easy morning drive to Michigan or Huron Shores plus Mackinac Bridge to the U.P. Manistee, Charlevoix, Sleeping Bear Dunes are also close enough for a day trip. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and hope to visit again soon.

Skip Motel 72
Due to a last minute family emergency, our departure and impending arrival/check-in at Motel 72 6843 W. M-72 Highway Grayling, MI became extended past the 830am-midnight hours their front desk is open. *As stated on hotels.com website*: "If you are planning to arrive after 11:30 PM please contact the property in advance using the information on the booking confirmation". We contacted the property as soon as we were aware of the delay, THREE+ hours prior to 1130pm. We explained our situation to gentleman who answered Motel 72's phone (<< who declined to privide his name) and informed him that our arrival time would be no later than 1215am. He then stated (quote): "We open 9 (a.m.) to 12 (midnight)....no exceptions....9 to 12.....every day....no exceptions". I clarified that (quote): "Since no one is able to stay just until 1215am, we will be unable to check-in to your property which would result in us having no where to stay/sleep tonight?!" He again repeated: "9 to 12.....every day....no exceptions". We subsequently had to last-second attempt to find other accommodations, luckily snagging 1 of only 3 available rooms at another hotel in Grayling, at a cost of $190.73, in addition to the $115.49 pre-paid at Motel 72

I chose this based on the reviews and the reviews were accurate! This s a very clean, well maintained facility. I liked the hallways with their old fashioned lanterns flickering on the walls (they were lit by regular lights also). Nice ambience.
