There is a private trail from the property into the National Forest with large aspen groves, a beautiful creek, and expansive overlooks from the saddle that is perfect for hiking or snowshoeing. While you cannot see the road from our property, road noise can travel up the mountain at times and can be heard if you are outside or if the windows are open. If you're expecting absolute silence, this may not be the place for you. While it is rare, some people experience symptoms from high altitude (headache, sleepiness, dizziness, nausea, etc.). If you are coming from a lower elevation, we recommend giving yourself at least a day to acclimate in the Denver/Boulder area. Staying super hydrated and avoiding alcohol will also help prevent these symptoms. The natural bedrock spring water direct from the sink is some of the best water in the US, so please stay well hydrated during your time and always have water with you on day trips. Reusable water bottles and hydration powder packets are provided. Just one hour from Denver but we felt a world away. Stunning views, clean and cozy. We were extremely comfortable and appreciated all of the thoughtful touches from the owner (snacks! robes! slippers!). The sauna is perfection. The house was just oozing with charm and extremely functional. the listing is 100% accurate and the chalet is even more than that. Peaceful, comfortable, cozy, restful. Sara was a wonderful host and very attentive to communications. Spent one day visiting Breckenridge for a sleigh ride and dinner. We can’t wait to return to Hygge Chalet. ##### Jonathan B. The charming place was exactly as listed, and Sarah was very responsive to the couple questions we have. Everything is pretty much covered in an onsite guide, so take a few minutes to read it. It would have helped if I had read the guide prior to trying to turn on the sauna. The chalet was absolutely clean, and we loved sitting on one of the decks for either dinner of morning coffee. I appreciated that it was at the end of a road, isolated, and provided a lot of relaxation. As we live in Denver, we are looking forward to our next visit. ##### Gerard S. It's clear they've put a lot of effort into ensuring their guests feel taken care of while staying at the Chalet—from the delightful snacks in the kitchen (which came in handy!) to Sara's responsiveness to my questions. We got snowed in on the last full day of our stay, but we couldn't have asked for a more peaceful place to watch the snow fall. Sara also coordinated with her very kind neighbour to plow the path down the hill so we could make it back into the city to catch our flight the next day. 10/10 would recommend. The chalet is tucked away in a quiet neighborhood in the mountains. It has everything you need during a weekend away - things that you might even forget while packing for a vacation! The owners of the property are quick to respond with questions you may have. It's sooooo cozy and very clean. There's a fireplace in the living room that makes you just feel tranquil. I enjoyed cooking in the fully equipped kitchen and sat in the sauna many times to decompress. There's a private trail next to the property and snowshoeing shoes are at the chalet for guests to use (multiple pairs). I can't express enough how much I loved it here. And I know for a fact I will return in the future. It's too pretty and lovely to not go again :) ##### Steph S.
