Tucked away from the road beyond a winding wooded driveway, this newly renovated restful home is perfect for family getaways & private retreats. On almost 100 acres of private land with trails, wildlife, and a small lake. With a quick 20-minute drive to access to all Wisconsin Dells has to offer, this getaway offers the best of both worlds - natural quiet privacy and about as much adventure as most people would care to explore! Surrounded by nature with acres and acres of woods, a lake, open fields and trails throughout the almost 100 acre property. The property is surrounded by farmland, woods and wildlife. The house is about 600 ft from the lake with trails surrounding. There are a few other units on the property that share access to the grounds. Very secluded. John the caretaker is onsite part time and able to help you with any needs as well as local directions! Quick 20 minute access to the Wisconsin Dells! GRILL A nice charcoal grill is provided for your use. You must provide your own charcoal and lighter fluid. Enjoy grilling in the great outdoors! FIRE PITS AND FIREWOOD There is a firepit for you to enjoy outside your deck. Firewood is available at a charge of $5 per bundle. Please do not bring firewood from a long distance away as that encourages the spread of invasive species. If you desire more firewood to be delivered before or during your stay please message us. SPEED LIMIT A speed limit of 10MPH is posted throughout the property. For everyone's safety we ask that this limit be respected. TRAILS Please enjoy the extensive trails throughout the property. With the exception of maintenance workers the trails are for walking only, no motorized vehicles, please. RASPBERRY PICKING There are extensive berries on the property in season. Please feel free to help yourself and enjoy the berries. Please be polite to the other guests coming after you and leave some for the next guests to enjoy. DRINKING WATER Please bring your own bottled water as we do not drink the well water on the property. It is fine for bathing and dish washing. PET POLICY Well behaved & potty trained Dogs / Pets are allowed with permission and a $50 deposit. No aggressive breeds. If desired, we will refund $25 back cash or $50 credit for a future visit (at your request / option) when the cleaners report there have been no additional cleanup issues. Dogs must be on a leash no longer than 6ft when outdoors & you must clean up after your pet. You can request your pet permit through messaging with us during or after booking. PARTIES Parties are only allowed with prior communication and permission with owners prior to arrival. Excessive drinking / rowdy behavior will result in the cancellation of the booking without a refund. HOUSE RULES Smoking or Vaping allowed outdoors only. Absolutely no hair dye usage on property. No food or drink in the bedrooms please, water only. LAKE ACCESS The lake has fish (you are free to fish here with a Wisconsin fishing license!) There are snapping turtles in the lake so we do not recommend swimming. We are close to Parker Lake, Castle Rock Lake and other swimmable lakes for you to enjoy. CANOE There is a canoe at the lake that you may use seasonally. Please bring your own life jackets if you have them. There is a separate liability form for the use of the canoe. QUIET TIME We do have other guests in other areas of the property. It is respectfully requested that a quiet time of 10:30pm - 7am be observed to ensure that all guests are able to enjoy the property (and sleep if they desire). ADDITIONAL GUESTS As guests of Spring Lake Retreat, you are welcome to invite your guests who are to leave before quiet time begins. Any additional guests that stay overnight are subject to $20 per guest per night fee and must be checked in with the host prior to 9pm. LATE CHECKOUT Late checkout is available upon request IF there is no one arriving the same day of your departure. Since we had 8 in our group cooking bacon in the oven would have been best, but there were no appropriate baking dishes. A kitchen towel would have been nice too. There were plenty of paper towels, but I missed a regular old hand towel. Also, this is the first time I'm stayed in a place that didn't have at least some kind of shampoo or body wash. Upon arrival the house was filled with bugs alllll over. In the common area all in the bedrooms! Throughout the entire house! There is an infestation of lady bugs !!! I had to go to dollar general to buy bug spray in order to remain in the property!! I wanted to cancel my stay asap. The property manager came to vacuum up the lady bugs upon arrival but they came back asap !! There is no drinking water no bottle water provided in the home. Furniture outdated !! The grill for barbecuing is so small we purchased another one because the grill was so filthy!! While being outside on the porch it’s a ton of bugs you can’t enjoy it because the porch lights attract them and there is no bug spray or anything pertaining to being out back. Everyone was not able to sleep because of the bug problem. We slept with all the lights on. This property does not have drinkable water, this is in the rental agreement but not stated directly on the VBRO site. At the nightly rate charged (including all the cleaning fees) during off season, I think that it should have included bottled drinkable water and soap and shampoo in the shower. The biggest let down was the pond. We were informed we could go fishing there. We were also told there was a nearby pond to swim in. The fishing pond was covered with algae. We stayed in this property for New Years weekend and it was perfect for our family of 8\. The house was very clean and close enough to the dells to hit the casino on NYE. About 15 minute drive. We forgot a couple items when we left and the owner is going to mail them to us. He was very easy to work with from initial booking to leaving. We would like to try the house in summer as the property around it looked nice. ##### Vickie S. When checking in the house was sooo clean, only thing that was dirty was the ceiling fan in the living room. But other than that the backyard was peaceful during the day & night! We loved going around the trails and seeing the deer from a far. 😍 the living room couches are new as well!! Sooo comfy, I would catch myself falling asleep at night 😂 thank you Jeremy for being such an awesome host!! We will be back next year for my boys birthdays again :) ##### Amy S.
