We've enjoyed our stay at this hotel many times, however, this wasn't one of them. We didn't find out until after we had gotten there that the hotel was basically under construction, and we felt it should have been closed for a renovation of this magnitude. We could tell it wasn't going to be a pleasant experience, so we changed hotels. It will be awesome ONCE IT'S FINISHED, and we'll go back then. I know that resorts have to renovate occasionally, and we love to stay in a nice, updated room, but when the renovation is that extensive, the hotel should be closed. Imagine having a good experience with this going on: the entire area behind the hotel was torn out, i.e. the pool, with their wonderful swim up bar, palm trees, sidewalk café, lounge chairs - everything was gone; there was earth moving equipment running below our balcony door; we could only access the beach from the opposite side of the property; a portion of the hotel rooms were blocked off, and not being sold; the reception area was in a tent on the front lawn. How could you, in good conscience, sell rooms to people under these conditions? You know they're not going to have an enjoyable time. We expected more from the Westin. We felt we had been tricked. When you go to a place like the Westin, you are paying for the experience, otherwise, you'd book a room at Motel 6 if you only wanted the basics. It left me with a really bad taste in my mouth for the Westin. We felt that we'd been taken advantage of,

It would be out of place for us to speak on behalf of third party booking sites. However, we regret to hear that you were not made aware of our renovations prior to arrival. We regret that we missed this opportunity to welcome you and hope you will give us the chance to provide you with a memorable experience sometime in the future.
