Acadia has a park area close by, but few stopping points , mostly a scenic drive. The main Acadia National Park is about 45 to 50 mins away. Using the bus system during the busiest season is the smartest option. There is a new Gateway Center outside of the park , which will take you to the old visitor center and that is about 30 mins from Goldsboro. Lobster dinners are very expensive, but 10 miles down the road is Millbridge with a family owned and operated Chipman’s wharf and you can find lobster and seafood for sale. Great prices and they will cook the lobster for you. There is a grocery store in Millbridge or if you need something larger then drive up to Ellsworth about 30 mins away. The house is very comfortable and equipped with everything you need (we couldn’t find a toaster, there is a large toaster oven). The coffee pot uses pods. The bedrooms are large and beds are comfortable. TV in every room and a huge one in the living room. No carpeting except area rugs , which makes the house easy to clean. The house was spotless when we arrived and comfortable after a very long traveling and flight issue day. We flew into Bangor , which is about an hour away. We would stay here again if we returned to Maine since Rachel has created a comfortable home and easy to communicate with.
