The Neighborhood: Located approximately 15 minutes from the historic town of Gonzales, Texas, 9T Ranch provides guests with a serene sense of privacy in the South-Central Texas Plains. Guests will have free reign over a large portion of the 90-acre property, which has direct access points to the San Marcos River. Rich with revolutionary history, Gonzales County is speckled with relics depicting the beginning and end of the Texas Revolution (1835-36). In town, you’ll find HEB Grocery, Wal-Mart, coffee shops, and a variety of dining options. Other nearby attractions include: • Palmetto State Park with hiking trails, paddle boarding, fishing and more (10 minute drive) • The BBQ Capital of Texas in Lockhart (35 minute drive) • San Marcos and Guadalupe River tubing (\~1 hour drive) • Ottine Mineral Springs (15 Minute drive) Getting Around: • Rental cars are necessary as ride share services and public transportation are not available in this area. • Bringing an electric vehicle? This property comes equipped with two 240V NEMA 14-50 outlets. Other Things to Note: 1) Working Ranch: Please do not interact with livestock or wildlife on the property. There are several direct access points to the San Marcos River, as well as two stock ponds. Guests are welcome to swim, fish, canoe, etc. at their own risk. The stock ponds are not recommended for swimming. The south side of the property with foreman's trailer and ranch infrastructure are strictly off limits to guests. 2) We Are Dog Friendly (Dogs Only) You're welcome to bring up to 5 dogs total. The pet fee is $185 for the stay, plus any applicable taxes. This fee helps ensure the home is thoroughly cleaned and free of allergens for future guests. Please remember that dogs are not allowed on furniture or beds. If excessive pet hair is found that cannot be removed with standard cleaning, additional charges may apply. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate any pets other than dogs. 3) Events: 9T Ranch is the perfect choice for small events. If you’d like to host an event, please inquire with us – provide details about the nature of your event and how many guests you expect. There is an event fee in addition to the nightly rate. I can't say enough about this property. The layout was so spacious and the kitchen and baths well equipped. The 3 car garage was a bonus room with seating, ping pong table, extra refrigerator, and full bath. Our family of 10 adults and 2 two year olds had plenty of big space to all be together and then optional spaces to gather in small groups and play games or watch something different on tv. The outdoor patio was VERY spacious and we gathered there too! The yard was fenced so we brought our fur babies and never worried they could get loose. It was super nice to let them out on their own instead of walk them on a leash at 5-6 am. There was plenty of seating for meals and the kitchen had the most supplies of any place we've ever stayed. The toddler-proof dishes were an added bonus. Fishing in the tank was enjoyed by all. The perfect perch tank for our littles to have a fun fishing experience. I highly recommend more than just a weekend stay. We stayed 3 nights but wished we could have stayed more. We have celebrated family with an overnight weekend for over 10 years now. We had four generations all together ranging from 10 months to 70 years old. The property provided a beautiful backdrop for us to enjoy our time together. The patio was perfect even on a hot summer day equipped with comfortable seating. The interior of the home allowed space to relax and play. We had some playing chess and others in the garage for ping pong. Due to the weather and time commitments, we were unable to enjoy the stocked fishing or river access but hope to do so at our next stay. It was really very simple, we were just tired and frustrated. It's a nicely secluded property, yet close to town. The house was beautiful, very neat and clean, and everything was there that could possibly be needed. One of the trundle beds had no linens, but Walmart was close by. This is not a complaint, just a suggestion: A ramp or two would be nice for those who are wheelchair bound or who have trouble with their lower extremities, and grab bars for the shower and toilet could be helpful. After I booked the place, everything with my family went haywire, and we had to make several changes. The Property Manager, Rena, was very helpful and patient through it all, and I am so grateful to her. There was plenty of room to accommodate all eight of us for meals and socializing. The outdoors fire pit area was very enjoyable. We thoroughly enjoyed it!
