Bon séjour au Star
Bon séjour avec forfait « exécutive », petit-déjeuner (buffet), accès au salon avec son horloge originale (happy hours à partir de 17h), étages plus élevés, valet parking et 50 aud à dépenser dans l’hôtel par jour. Les tarifs (sur même forfait) ont augmenté en deux ans : je ne sais pas si c’est lié au covid ou bien en relation avec un fort taux d’occupation (nombreux séminaires d’entreprises) aux dates de notre séjour ? Avions accès aux 2 piscines (celle du Star et du Dorset), je ne sais pas pour le Darling… une 4ème est en cours de construction. Nous retournerons au Star sauf si les tarifs augmentent encore et deviennent exhorbitants. .

The staff were very slow in all interactions and the hotel was not well signposted from the car park (we didn’t know there was a casino). When we arrived we couldn’t find the reception to begin with. Once we did, check in was very slow - the staff member tried to charge me twice and failed to return my passport until I asked for it. The rate we found online on The Star website was cheaper than what reception were trying to charge us, so we had to stand their and book it online at the desk, when it would have been much easier if the staff member could have just honoured the online rate for us at the desk. We were encouraged to sign up for the member club to get free parking but my card was still charged for the parking. Signing up for the club was a tedious process online but we then had to go to the membership desk to collect our card, which was a great inconvenience to the staff working on that desk too. The room itself however, was lovely. Great views, good size beds and very clean. I would revisit the hotel for the rooms and the location but there are definitely improvements that could be made to the operations of the hotel.

Showers had pink mould in grout and underneath the lip of hand basins Road works at front of building and all the barriers around reconstructions happing. Harzardous areas on walking path to get to shopping Also atms only allow $200 withdrawals at a time

I'm sorry, but the only plus was the comfort of the bed and pillows. Had a great sleep. It was our 10th wedding anniversary and upon arrival was just greeted with Happy Anniversary. When we stayed at Mantra South Bank on our 5th Anniversary, they surprised us with a nice bottle of wine and an anniversary balloon. When we ordered room service we only had 4 choices for main on all day menu. Dry cheeseburgers and rubbery toasted sandwich, milkshakes without straws. $82.50 omg. Considering this venue is supposedly up market, we were not impressed at all. Will not be returning.

We had a lovely corner apartment. Great view - a little construction that could be seen from the balcony but so much else to look at. A little tweak needed with removing a black scuff on the wall in the bedroom and a few crumbs in the coffee drawer. But we loved it and the best was so, so comfortable like a cloud.

Check in experience was extremely slow. We were waiting up to 30 minutes before someone would assist us. Multiple staff walking around but no one attended to us or even gave a courteous ‘I won’t be a moment’.
