We arrived late due to traffic and hosts were very understanding. Arrived to walk up the steps to the tv blaring as male host is deaf (had headphones on mind you), same thing happened Saturday night. Breakfast on Saturday was to be at 9 am. We got our breakfast close to 10 am. Not what you want on your only full day away on a break. There is no internet. Host said at very top of stairs on the top floor, got nothing there or in our room. Bathroom is dangerous, shower screen is only about 30-60 cms wide at best, all water goes on the tiled floor outside the shower, serious slipping hazard. Our sliding door opened out on to the back garden area. The male host decided to wander near our back door at 6 am and talk to the birds while feeding them, waking us up. Male host also decided to wander outside the sliding door a few hours later, no privacy for room occupants getting changed. While breakfast was taking place, the male host and a very rude male guest were having a very public conversation verbally bashing women (3 women in their presence). I would not stay here again, place needs a good dust and airing, nice big home but stale and musty. Think your money would be better spent elsewhere.

Sorry you did not enjoy your stay, I have no idea why you could not get the internet as our other guests did not have a problem. I have never had anyone complain about the bathrooms before, we left them as open as possible for people with disabilities.

Not bad, nice and complete apartment
Just stayed for a night with the family, after driving along the Hinterland. Nice and isolated spot, no shops near, but a quick drive to Nerang in case anything is needed. Apartment a little dusty, but besides that, everything was great. Had everything we needed.

This is not a 4 star sanitised accommodation. This is a BEAUTIFUL, homely, warm, home-stay accommodation with an amazing couple and a wide variety of bird life. If you want to have breakfast with the birds, this is the place.

A home amongst the trees and the Rbirdlife.
We had a very enjoyable stay at Rumbalara Bed and Breakfast. The host and hostess were very welcoming and made us feel at home. The breakfasts were amazing. Very clean and comfortable. Would recommend it to anyone.

Isolated location
The location is quite isolated. No WiFi connection and no free continental breakfast :( Bathroom set up is not convenience and weird position. You need to go through the first bedroom and through the bathroom to enter the second bedroom. Bathroom is in the middle of two bedrooms and has two doors without locks.

Sorry you were not happy , it does say in the information about Rumbalara that it is half an hour from the coast and breakfast is not included in the self contained flat, also you can enter the second bedroom from the hall. It is not ideal I know but I can't think of any way to fix it. Denise.

Privately owned Bed and Breakfast in a beautiful, rustic house nestled into the fringes of the rain forest. Modern rooms and amenities abound. Custom made breakfast is served on a big covered balcony with view into the woods.

A champagne experience at a beer price
WOW!!! So we stumbled across Rumbalara B&B after deciding to recharge our batteries on a whim, and the place just blew us away. A clean, tidy and somewhat fashionable room with an ensuite, a comfy bed, and a kitchen you could cook a Sunday Roast. Then came breakfast on the verandah overlooking a sub-tropical rain forest, and native friendly birds perching on our hands for a feed. Glorious!!! Breakfast??? Well, let's just say I pretty much did not eat for the rest of the day, and Denise's cooking was just like being at home ..... flawless experience. If you like the rat race, this place if definitely not for you, however if you want a quiet place to chill and unwind, and enjoy the 5 star hospitality, stuff your face with some good old Aussie brekky tucker, and explore the local surrounds, as there is certainly plenty to see; I am sure you will have a ball like me and Doug. Denise we are looking forward to our next stay on March 16 ..... we'll bring some snacks for the birds next time, tehehe!

Nice and quiet. Relaxing with beautiful wildlife.
A get away night. It is beautiful place. Quiet with beautiful surroundings. I felt I was at home, to the lovely chef the would was awesome. Will definitely be there again soon.

Rainforest Retreat.
Welcoming hosts. Local birdlife came to check out our breakfasts - rainbow lorrikeets, parrots and cockatoos. Good budget self-contained rooms for families. No internet and limited phone reception - so is truly a place of retreat.

What a wonderful stay hard to find at the end of a no through road this place is Aussie BUSH with a vengeance, cockies with breakfast,Parrakeets at the bedroom door,all the native flora and fauna you could wish for.The owners couldn't do enough for us and the breakfast on the verandah was the best English I have ever had for content and quality. We don't often repeat our stays but we'll be back here again.

Relaxing and enjoyable stay at Rumbalara
We had a wonderful stay at Rumbalara - thoroughly enjoyed it. The host Denise was very friendly and helpful (and her husband). We were in Queensland for a very short stay as we were attending a wedding. We wished we could have stayed a bit longer at Rumbalara. The flat we stayed in had our own access and plenty of space. The décor probably a bit older but very comfortable. There were 5 of us staying. We loved the trees and bush surrounding the hotel (house) and saw some fantastic wildlife. If I needed assistance with anything Denise was happy to help.( I used her computer to confirm flight bookings). We would love to go back and stay some other time. We visited Springbrook National park nearby and it was just stunning. We would thoroughly recommend staying at Rumbalara !

I'm sorry you disliked the property so much but it was obvious when you arrived that you had not checked the details and photos and were expecting a luxurious apartment. I hope you found what you were looking for, not easy on car racing weekend in Surfers Paradise.

Loved the setting, the very reasonable price and the fact that we were welcomed like old friends. The decor may.be dated but i think that is part of the charm....it has character and substance. You can see that the lovely owners love the place they have built. The only downside is that they were booked out so we couldnt stay another night. Everything was extremely clean and well loved. Its nice to walk into a place and be reminded of ur nanas or fav auntys house. My 5.chn were treated as guests not inconveniences. The owners spoke to them not down to them. Its so refreshing to stay somewhere that feels like home and.not a stwrile place w everything the same as the last place. It is also lovely to be able to stay somewhere w plenty of room amd not.be charged a small fortune. We were treated like welcome visitors and.not charged extra for every little thing. Cant wait to return

This is a bed and breakfast specialising in living close to nature and catering for groups wanting nature viewing and photography, bushwalking etc. It does not fit the traditional concept of a hotel. The guests have rooms which are part of the manager's residence which is set in a secluded rain forest setting. A home away from home.

Our family of 6 stayed very confortably in this spacious flat on the ground floor of Rumbalara B & B. Private entry & parking. Breakfast not included for this accom but there is a kitchen with everything one would need to cook. 2 bedrooms with a 2 way bathroom in between, a lovely lounge area plus dining, & outdoor setting plus BBQ! Would have liked to stay longer to appreciate all it offered & the quiet bushland setting. Family friendly with a great assortment of toys plus some books & DVDs too in the common area. Beds very comfortable & warm, even bedding supplied for the portacot. An older style place but suited us very well.

Lovely hideaway among the trees
If you hate trees and wildlife stay away from this place. Its full of both and we loved it. The air was fresh and cooling, the trees were full of birds and their song. Breakfast was fresh cooked from a very generous menu and you could choose how much you interacted with the owners. Loved it.

Website states bed and breakfast however no breakfast is provided. The internet very slow but this is due to area accom is in. Accom could have been cleaner it was a bit dusty etc. overall accom is in a nice area if you want secluded accom.

needs some cleaning, new linen, cleanup
Lot of potential, but in desperate need of attention. Needs a spruce up clean and new linen as well as a tidy up around the yard and entrance. Lovely area, but let down by presentation. Hosts were nice, and hopefully they get all the bits and pieces tidied up so it feels like a holiday destination rather than an untidy rural house.

Warm and friendly hosts, very comfy and welcoming. Lovely bushland setting, tucked away from the world but only a short drive to the Gold Coast and Mount Tamborine.

Highly recommend
We stayed in 2 bedrooms self contained unit. The rooms were nice and clean and quite comfortable. The only problem I had was if you are in a big group and sleeping in the lounge room, you will need to walk through one of the bedrooms to go to the bathroom. Overall we enjoyed our stay. Owners were very helpful and friendly.

Great bush retreat.
Denise and Allan were very welcoming hosts. We booked at the last minutes and we're lucky enough to be able to get into their BnB. The BnB was in a bush land setting with lots of wildlife around the home. The rate was very reasonable and the breakfast the next morning was wonderful and certainly kept us going until lunchtime.

Great breakfast and hostess was excellent. There was building material all over the place and the building plus rooms were a bit run-down.
