"Outstanding hotel."
131 is without doubt the finest hotel we have stayed in in the UK and shows its not rocket science running a hotel, just get the right people to run it. The rooms are stylish and well furnished, the food excellent and the facilities top notch* but the staff were really exceptional, professional, friendly and helpful and we will go out of our way to stay there again. *Only issue was the lack of air conditioning but that is a small payoff to stay in such a fantastic building right in the middle of Cheltenham.

"Fabulous "
Lots of attention to detail at this hotel, when we arrived we had been upgraded which was a nice surprise! The room and bathroom were fantastic, we went for dinner at their sister hotel no.131 where the hotel arranged a complementary taxi! When we returned the beds had been turned down and had hot chocolate and cookies left out! On check out we were given bottle of water and chocolate for our journey! Just a lovely evening away!

"Great location for the amenities outside the hotel"
Stayed two nights in this lovely hotel, just 16 rooms but perfectly formed. All the staff at all times we very welcoming. The restaurant provided an excellent breakfast selection and dinner. Stow is lovely and we were lucky to be there for the pre Christmas festivities.

"Idyllic country retreat, fabulous rooms."
We had 2 of the junior suites for 2 nights; they were both fab & v.tranquil. (Rooms 15&17) Very big & comfy beds, quality showers and a bathtub for two with heaps of hot water 24/7. Highly recommended accommodation. The rooms would benefit from the addition of an iPod dock or speaker. The staff were great. If I had to find fault it would be that some of the common areas (e.g. corridors leading to our rooms) looked a little shabby and were overdue a lick of paint/general TLC. I did notice it but it certainly didn't impact significantly on the quality of my stay. The breakfast was very good. Again a couple of minor quibbles were that our toast was a bit burned on the 1st morning and my husband's muffin was full-on charred black on the 2nd morning, chef had apparently tried to conceal this with the scrambled eggs! However the pastries were delicious, as was the Full English (great bacon and a lovely orange yolked egg; the juices were fresh & tasty too) We did visit the spa and notice a couple of quite big areas of mould in the swimming pool itself, I found this offputting and inexcusable really. It was surprising to me, given that our rooms had been immaculate, that the spa would be unclean in this way. That said those are my teeny tiny niggles; overall I found it to be a super stay. I would certainly return. Oh and the village is stunning too, lots of lovely local shops, very, very quaint (in a good way), welcoming locals & an impressive array of quality dining option.

"Amazing Hotel"
I booked this hotel for a long weekend so I could propose to my partner. The perfect setting. Hotel is beautiful. ALL staff were polite, friendly and couldn't do enough to ensure we enjoyed our stay. Fantastic meal in the Beaufort Dining Room. The spa facilities are amazing. We had a medical emergency during our stay, and the staff moved like a well oiled machine to make sure everything was sorted immediately. A particular mention must go to David - a member of the restaurant staff, without whom this could have been a catastrophe. High Tea in the Great Hall is an experience not to be missed. I'd recommend the hotel to anyone, particularly if you're celebrating a special occasion.

"Quaint and classy"
Found this little gem by searching online for nice hotels in the Cotswolds. We got lucky! This place is an ideal getaway for a long weekend, for couples or families. The main building is a beautiful old great-house. Beside it are the "stables" which have been thoughtfully converted into modern and comfortable rooms. The grounds are impeccably kept. The spa, gym and indoor pool are top-notch. Food in the restaurant is excellent but expensive. Staff are friendly and efficient and went out of their way to help wherever they could. Cant complain about anything really, but the spa gets busy so book in advance.
