Pup ok "Beachcomber Cottage" is just a few steps to a lovely white sandy beach, (Long Beach) where you will immediately be drawn to the gorgeous views of 'Twin Lights' Lighthouses and the rocky seashore that surrounds you. Gloucester is a place to see, feel and experience history. The working waterfront and beauty have drawn fisherman, families, artists and visitors for hundreds of years. Enjoy a Whale watching tour and bring your fishing pole and enjoy the freshest catch! Haddock, cod and tuna can be enjoyed from the Whale Watching and Deep Sea Fishing boats. Lighthouses date from the 1780's, and the historic downtown has over 75 restaurants serving all kinds of cuisine along with the 'freshest' of seafood. Galleries, world class museums and the period architecture will enthrall you. Meet artists in America's oldest working artist colony on nearby Rocky Neck. Come and experience Cape Ann! 'Long Beach' is a protected stretch of ocean and white sand, perfect for sunbathing, walking, shelling and even surfing! Great waves and just a 2 minute walk from the cottage. From Long Beach, which is steps from the cottage, you can easily see 'Twin Lights' on Thatcher's Island as shown in photo. \*'Good Harbor Beach' (walking distance from the cottage) is a 1/2 mile long barrier beach with a rocky shore and a salt marsh which is protected by sand dunes. Small shrub covered rocky 'Salt Island' is accessible at low tide. \*These 2 beaches are nestled in secluded coves with white sand and stretch for miles. Everything is supplied for your beach vacation! Beachcomber has 3 bedrooms: 1 King bed, 1 Queen size bed and 2 Twin Size beds. 2 full bathrooms with shower/tub combo (1 on each level) There is one entrance with steps up to the large deck which opens into the kitchen. (Please see photo) We apologize, but Beachcomber is not handicap accessible. A few things to note: 'Beachcomber Cottage' sleeps a maximum of 6 (Total includes adults/children and toddlers). No exceptions. We 'ONLY' allow up to 5 cars in the driveway at any time. Parking is not allowed on Long Beach Road at any time. (You will be towed and ticketed) We do not allow parties and expect our guests to be respectful of our wonderful neighbors who we have known for over 50 years. Unruly, loud and/or disruptive behavior will not be tolerated and you will be asked to leave immediately and forfeit your payments. "Beachcomber Cottage" sits on an extra large, beautifully landscaped lot filled with flowering trees, shrubs and seasonal flowers which offers a very private setting to enjoy with family and friends. Tucked away on the lower ground floor in the rear, is a small apartment which has a very quiet, professional person who works full time. The entrances are not shared and are 'not' close together. This does not interfere with the 2 upstairs floors which are 100% designated for your use and enjoyment. We supply beach chairs, umbrellas and beach towels. If you have a few 'day guests' please ask them to bring their own beach chairs and towels as we only supply enough for Beachcomber booked guests. Due to the heavy weekend traffic on Cape Ann, Check-in time is 3PM and check-out time is 9AM. Weeks run SATURDAY - SATURDAY mid June - mid September. We have schedule flexibility prior and after this time period. During the low season, we offer a 4 night stay at a per diem rate. Contact us with days you are interested in visiting and we will do our best to accommodate you. We require a signed rental agreement which will be emailed to you once you have booked your reservation. Details upon booking. They were lots of flowers to add beauty and lots of trees or tall shrubs to provide privacy from the neighbors. Ping-pong table on the second floor’s recreation room was a big hit with all of our guests. We made several dinners for our guests using the grill and the cooktop and everything was available as far as cooking utensils, pots, and pans. The property owners promptly answered any questions that we had prior to checking in and we really had none after we checked in because the property was pretty much as described. I can't say enough good things about the Beachcomber Cottage! Laura has created a warm, welcoming, clean and well appointed home and amazingly offers it as a rental! My family found the home spacious enough to spread out when we wanted some quiet time but there were enough large spaces (inside and out) to gather and eat together. My mother, who has some knee issues and is partially blind, appreciated the grab bars in the bathroom and in a few other places in the house that offered her the extra security she requires. Let's not forget the real reason you rent this house--Long Beach! We love Long Beach and the Beachcomber is about the 6th house up from the sandy path that takes you right down to a picture perfect spot at the end of the crescent shaped beach! I would say with slow legs the walk will take to 4 minutes and with a quick step you can do it in 2\. The owners were always quick to reply to my questions and we will rent this house again and again. It was not newly renovated and we had a few ants at various times. The location is ideal for our family. We have relatives who live on the other end of GH Beach and throughout Gloucester so this is an annual trip for us. The house had beach chairs, sun umbrella, and beach towels all provided. The yard is nicely landscaped and quiet. The owners thought of everything you could possibly need while on vacation. The house is beautiful and spotless and located in a quiet neighborhood. It is literally a 2 minute walk from the driveway to beautiful Long Beach. It has a beautiful yard with lots of big trees to provide shade which was a welcome change from the hot sun on the beach. We loved it so much we have already booked for next year. We feel so lucky to have found this beautiful home to spend our family vacation. Aug 25, 2017 #### Best vacation ever This was the best vacation ever. No stress, the owner and her daughter make everything so easy. The house is well kept and clean. Long Beach is my favorite beach in Massachusetts and love going every year. Have rented several houses over the numerous years that we have been going but this one - is the best one. The beds are very comfortable. Love that this is house is close to everything, beach, and food. lol. Bearskin and Gloucester are my favorite places to visit. Aug 4, 2016 #### Family Vacation What a great place! This house made our vacation! Our favorite house that we have ever rented! We came with our two kids, ages 13 and 19 and allowed them both to bring friends and the house easily accommodated this arrangement! The house was so well maintained, clean and with lovely details, with a great yard. The deck with grill made a lovely area to eat dinners and there was an inside generous dining room table that sat 6 for colder, rainy evenings. And the location....to die for....one block from Long Beach and an easy 10 minute walk to Good Harbor Beach, which we enjoyed mornings, afternoons and evenings. And, there's a great ice cream shop on the way to Good Harbor. I also need to mention that the generously spaced upstairs area with a full bedroom, bathroom and living room area that has a full size pool table was excellent for my teenage daughter and her friends and of course the pool table was a huge hit with all of us! Also, the owners were so nice and responsive to our needs and questions. We would return without hesitation. Well worth the price! ##### Andrea K. It was spacious enough for everyone to have privacy when they needed it, and meals all together without being crowded. The kitchen was equipped with all the utensils for our Christmas dinner, and later in the week, a fresh lobster dinner. It's welcoming and comfortable in every sense of the word - including holiday decorations to make us feel at home. The location is perfect - close to Rockport, Rocky Neck and Gloucester, each with their own charm and history. Best of all is its proximity to a beautiful beach, which we walked every day. Another feature is the large deck, which overlooks a professionally landscaped yard. We can't wait to go back! ##### Nancy M. My family just returned from a wonderful stay at the Beachcomber and are already looking forward to going back. First of all, the house and property were beautiful. There was plenty of room for my 3 generation family to spread out and relax as well as be together. My daughter loved the beautiful back yard to play hide and seek, while my parents enjoyed the beautiful views from the spacious deck. The house is clean and well maintained. The most important attraction is being mere steps from Long Beach, a real treat with its beautiful sand and sparkling waters. Sunset walks, collecting shells , and splashing in the beautiful water were all a wonderful way to pass the time. The house is within minutes of great shopping to both downtown Gloucester and Rockport. Laura was a pleasure to work with, and my family is already counting the days to our return! ##### Alexis M. Jul 27, 2015 #### The Beachcomber Experience was WONDERFUL This was my first family vacation (9 of us) in Cape Ann Gloucester and the Beachcomber rental property was wonderful! Having a property that supplied linens, and paper goods and was equipped with a washer and dryer was a huge plus! The beds were comfortable, lawn well kept, and the house itself very clean. The location was great being a few miles from Rockport, and few steps to the beach, and close to grocery stores.
