« The house was very clean, well taken care of, and stocked with everything we needed. (In the main house there were a few more stairs than we were aware of, and a few very narrow and steep staircases which made it a bit more difficult for one of our family members who recently had broken a few ribs to get around, but not a deal breaker by any means) The pool was excellent (but could use a little shade - we were all vying for space under the one umbrella)Overall we had an excellent stay. »

« The property was nicely renovated and well stocked and as described in the listing. The AC was especially nice as we happened to be in town on one of the hottest weeks of the summer! We appreciated the central location as well. Overall a very good property, I would stay here again if we are in the area. »

« House 1 flight down from street level. Outdoor deck is a flight of stairs down (wary if you have little kids)Kayaks another 4 more flights down. didnt use them, but looked fun. Jetty quite high to launch kayaks.House was clean, uncluttered and modernly furnished. Communication was excellent, and owner let us stay extra 1.5 hrs. »

« Wonderful quiet space for visiting the New Hope area. Nicely stocked coffee/tea bar in kitchen including some snacks. Very clean and comfortable. The area had a storm while we were there and lost power but this place has a generator that kicked on and we continued to have power. »

« This property was the perfect stay. Very clean, relaxing and comfortable with all the amenities. Beautiful view of the lake from the comfy back porch. Quiet and relaxing. Property owners were so nice. Highly recommend. »

« Clean, relaxing stay on Lake Hopatcong. The views were beautiful and the dock area was enjoyable. Our grandkids enjoyed the kayaks. We had 3 generations in the house and were visiting family in the area. The location allowed for two day trips into NYC. We would definitely stay here again. »

« The home was lovely. 4 of us stayed, as we were in town for a memorial. After the memorial 10 of us gathered to look at pictures and chat. It was comfortable for a get together. Rooms were spacious and clean. We really enjoy our stay and would definitely stay here in the future. Host was helpful and quickly responded to our questions. »

« In August 2025 we had the perfect family vacation at the River House. My family of 9, ranging in age from 9 to 77, spent 5 nights in Joan’s beautiful house. I am in a wheelchair and have never stayed at a more handicapped accessible rental. Joan was helpful and gracious and when my bed was too high, she helped us work out a perfect solution and the elevator to all four floors was a lifesaver. « The most aesthetic and breathtaking VRBO property I've stayed at. Truly a hidden gem. New Jersey never looked so beautiful. We came for my bachelor party weekend, and were able to play music on not 1, but 2 great porches, a huge fire ring, and inside the beautiful homes. Both houses were fully stocked and ready to go. You can tell so much love has been put into this property over the years. Watching the cows and horses wander was a nice bonus. Highly recommend...we will be back! »
