Airport hotels can be in fairly strange places with odd views and so it was with this one. However, they've tried to make the most of what they have. Striking black and white interiors may not be to everyone's taste! We found the staff very good, so this makes any potential downside feel better.
It has a good pool with a decent size surrounding area. The restaurant was OK - not brilliant, but adequate. Free shuttle to the airport also bookable.
As in another Spanish hotel we found there were no tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms which for us was a real negative. Breakfast was an extra cost. The room was slightly on the small side, but we were only there for one night so was manageable.
Although the hotel appeared large it seemed to be run by very few people. However, they were very pleasant and always tried to please. When we returned to our rooms just after lunchtime we found they had not been made up and this was only done late afternoon.
If you were to ask us if we would return to the hotel we would say 'yes certainly'.
A very nice, clean, and pleasant hotel, reasonably priced in the very heart of the historic city. Excellent and friendly hosts who make this a place we hope to return. Would recommend the hotel to anyone. Very good place.
The hotel is slightly out of the centre but with that comes some peace and quiet. We loved it so much, this is our third visit. It was lovely that the receptionist remembered us and made a really speedy check in for us. We had a great room each time, a bath, a double bed, a TV with BBC World and even a kettle!
Catalonia’s second city after Barcelona, Gerona is the gateway to the Costa Brava although overlooked by most visitors. Its historic centre is compact and atmospheric, with narrow cobbled streets and steep steps. Highlights are the intriguing Jewish Museum, the magnificent cathedral and beautifully preserved Arab baths. Excellent restaurants, bars and shopping complete an enjoyable excursion.
