"Stay away from this property! I honestly don’t know how this lodge got its 4 stars. The way this lodge treats its guests is not worth even one star. We were given a shabby room, which clearly used to be a shed before. The parking space is so narrow that a taxi was asked to park within 30 cm from the door opening to our room, which implied that my family had to squeeze themselves through the opening. "The staff at the Maison-H was fantastic!! Debbie, Goda, and others plus the two dogs made our two week stay a great time. We enjoyed the breakfast meals and time in the swimming pool. Walks to the nearby beach were always a good experience. Monkeys at times in the morning were a fun surprise...dogs loved the time to bark. "The hosts are charming and very helpful. We felt most welcome. The stay was very comfortable, and the breakfast superb. There was evidence by way of ash and ends caught in the rail of the sliding doors of the bedroom leading out to the pool, that someone had smoked in the room which was unfortunate."

"The guest house is very clean and neat and the gardens well kept. Parking however was a problem, as was the entering and exiting the property. Breakfast which was included, was really disappointing. Some cereal, yoghurt, watered down juice of no discernable flavour, coffee and tea and a choice of 4 options for the hot meal. One option was Halaal and the rest were exactly the same, only the choice of sausage differed.Surely in a province rich in tropical offerings, some avocado and fresh fruit...

"It seemed the property was not ready for guests. The rooms and shelves were not very clean. The sink leaked and the bath drainage took a long time to drain. The stoves for cooking did not have knobs for turning it on. You could hardly see with the light in the bathroom when we arrived. The sofa was torn and squeaked. Linen & towels did not look fresh & clean (very old)."

"The staff were amazing and incredibly friendly — from the porter to the front desk, right through to the beautiful breakfast service. The waiters were attentive, and the ever-smiling chefs truly made the experience special. I was, however, a bit concerned about the cleanliness of the room, particularly the bathroom. The shower glass and walls need more attention. In areas with aluminum joints, I would suggest using a toothbrush to remove the black buildup. The rails could also be wiped down properly to restore that desired shine. Nothing makes a hotel room feel more comfortable than a spotless bathroom.” "
