As Hotel is next to main road (Jalan Burma), it is rather noisy even late at night. Good place for short stay as there is no housekeeping. WiFi works well. Hotel name is Rain Garden. Good to tell driver exact address. Aardige ontvangst door personeel van het restaurant . De bovenverdieping is aan de warme kant. Jammer dat er geen handdoeken worden gewisseld tijdens het verblijf. De afstand naar het centrum is zeker 3/4 uur met de bus. They messaged me the day before check in to provide information on the location of the hotel and how to reach there, but we were unable to find the location on Grab and the taxi drivers didn't know the location as well. Eventually we had to manually pin the location on the app. The location itself was great, close to many good food places, but it can be quite noisy at night and since it's at roadside. It can be noisy at night. Zero parking facilities but it was ok as we relied on Uber to go anywhere. Be warned that there are a lot of steps to climb if travelling with an older person. One in our party was in his 90's. The hotel manager Vicken was great. He gave us an easier room to access. We just had to be very careful going up and down the many steps. Limited parking lots - parking coupons were provided. Rooms are on the second floor of the Rain Garden restaurant however there were no signs of the hotel name around. Very weak/no wifi connection in the room. Room is quite dim, would be better if brighter. Entrance is along Lorong Bangkok, tucked in a corner. It's above RG restaurant/bar. It's a studio/loft, 2 double beds. Shower is not as strong as I like it, but the heater works great. Iron, ironing board, hairdryer, adapter available. Suggested to the staff they could consider supplying bedroom slippers as I got a splinter from the wooden floor, but it was the first time the staff heard of such a thing. No lift, stairs to the rooms are slightly steep. Stairs in the room have narrow steps. Walking distance to malls @ Gurney & the hawker centre. Uber fare was RM3 to Gurney Paragon. Uber drivers in Penang are great! No lobby/reception, but Hotel owner and staff are reachable via Whatsapp and they are responsive, approachable & kind. Owner even offered to drop us to our destination when we checked in but we wanted to settle down for a bit before heading out. Not sure if there is a fixed housekeeping schedule, but if you need anything changed/fixed/replaced, just text them. Many food options downstairs, opposite & near Pulau Tikus wet market. Although lacking proper parking bay, the hotel extended their hospitality by giving us free whole day parking vouchers so that we can park anywhere in the town. Room was a bit dark, maybe this is what you get in 'old heritage style' dwelling. There are only seven rooms altogether and downstairs is a big restaurant/pub. Great eateries and shopping malls in nearby Gurney Drive. However a big downside is that the property is next to a busy road, and very loud motorcycles passing by all the time! The noise can be very annoying when you are inside room, we had no problem falling asleep though because of earplugs and the noise somewhat gets down at night. But if you are a light sleeper, don't stay here. ##### Shujing
