This hotel have seen better days, I took like forever to check in.. even only me in to check in. The room was ground floor, old style, but okay and clean. The TV signal was not working, also many issues with the Wifi, and when ask in the front desk, no answer or solution when it will be fixed. Værelset var meget rummeligt, vi var 4 i 6 personers værelset. Det var rent på værelset. Personalet var venligt. Morgenmad var dårlig og bestod af røræg eller spejlæg, små pølser, hashbrown eller nudler, toast med smør, posh (grød), appelsinsaftevand (ikke juice), kaffe/The. Fin, ren pool åben 7-19\. Poolhåndklæder udleveres. Selvom der står, man ikke må bade i tøj der ikke er af spandex, overholdes dette ikke af alle muslimske gæster, men hotellet påtaler det ikke. Masser af mulighed for lokal billig god mad i området. I think they could be a much better value if they set up wifi, make their breakfast a bit fancier, and provide shower temperature adjustment. LOCATION: The hotel is a bit far from Georgetown (\~25min walk), but there are some good hawker food locations very close. ROOM: It's an old, functional, but clean and tidy building. There was a bit of mold growing in the grout in the bathroom, but I noticed this in all 3 Penang hotels I stayed in. This one had less than average. The toilet has a bidet. The hot water requires turning on a switch outside the bathroom, waiting for the in-room boiler to heat up then using it. As there is no control on the heat, you have to time when you use it so it's not too cold or scalding hot--this is very bad plumbing retrofit on the part of the hotel. AMENITIES: The pool in the back is very nice. An shared ironing board in the hallway looks like it hadn't seen much use. Breakfast was included which were noodles one day, congee, an egg-frying station, and toast machine. It's good enough, though I'd recommend skipping the free breakfast to go out to get a better flavorful breakfast since you're staying in Penang. WIFI: The wifi apparently hadn't been working for a long time such that they had notices about it. I thought I booked a budget hostel rather than a hotel. It was nothing like we saw from the photos we found on the web. Maybe there are better rooms but mine is certainly the worst of them all. Environmental wise, the air cond was noisy, you can hear the rain smashing on the ground clearly which kept us awake all night. The hot water doesn't work and the TV has very poor reception, which is virtually useless.
