Rude hotel staff
Hotel reception staff is very rude. Upon check out, I found my receipt contained error as to my name and address, the staff responded very rudely when I requested them to change the receipt. Their breakfast is below expectation for a 4 star hotel. We have the dinner at the hotel and the quality of food is much disappointed, no good value for money.

Nice business hotel close to city center
This is a large, modern, comfortable hotel within walking distance from the train station. Our room was large, modern, with a good a wifi connection. For us, a large, buffet breakfast was included; a big boon fo our stay. The pool is not for lap swimming, just big enough to relax and play. Spa services available, but we didn't use them. There is a large super market less than a block away.

Great hotel, large room and bathroom. Short walk over to the center of Gengenbach for a lovely dinner. Very comfortable.

A stone's throw from Strasbourg
This hotel was very charming. The staff was all very professional and extremely friendly. They spoke excellent English. The room was very spacious and spotlessly clean. The breakfast buffet was well stocked with breads, scrambled eggs, fried eggs, sausages, juices, yogurt, fruit, etc. Basically everything you would expect at a fine German hotel. They also had a pool, but I didn't go look at it. Gengenbach is about 10 miles from Strasbourg, so if you want to visit a large city and see the cathedral, it's very easy to get there. I had a rental car, and there was plenty of parking. I don't often give five stars, but this hotel deserves it! The only slight drawback is that instead of WiFi, they will give you an ethernet cable for your laptop. No connection for your iPhone. But that's not enough to deduct a star!

"Not what I expected"
I should have done more research. I had to ask for a temperature adjustment in my room. Never was comfortable. Either too cold or too warm. Bathtub not designed for a standing shower. Had to hurry to catch my train when checking out because the desk person does not arrive until 6 am and she was a few minutes late. Breakfast didn't have eggs until my final morning. I think this place would work better for leisurely holiday people in the summertime.

They made us feel like rock stars!
The staff were absolutely wonderful from the time we arrived until the time we departed. The room was a great value with a great private balcony and lots of space in the room. We also received a free regional rail pass with the room and the front desk staff helped us find train schedules, book a massage, and recommended recreation and restaurants. The service in the hotel restaurant/bar was exceptional and the free breakfast was substantial. We whole-heartedly recommend this hotel, especially for those that like to be off the beaten track and appreciate the slower pass of the smaller cities.

The Best Hotel I Never Expected
I stayed four nights at the Schwarzwald Hotel Gengenbach as part of a Black Forest tour. I found the quality of the hotel and facilities to be outstanding. The professionalism and friendliness of the staff is also of the highest standard. I will be back for sure, thanks for a great stay.

I had a lovely holiday in Gengenbach and I would recomend this for more mature couples who enjoy peace and tranquility. I would not recomend this part of germany for people who want a lot of nightlife. The hotel itself was beautiful and clean, and the staff were very helpful on the desk. We only had breakfast included. The food was plentiful but it is mainly catered for continental breakfasts so it is not catered for English type of breakfasts, but I didnt have a problem with that. We didnt use the hotel restaurant in the evenings because we chose to eat in the scenic restaurants in Gengenbach. One down side was that if you want to watch TV in the evenings, there are only German channels and our TV was very very old! Overall I had a great holiday and I would recomend this part of the Black Forest and I would like to come back again!

Weekend getaway in the Black Forest
Schwarzwald Hotel Gengenbach is a great place to stay in the Black Forest. The hotel location is quiet, serene and surrounded by beautiful landscapes. There are scenic walking paths nearby and the historic downtown area is a 10 min walk. The staff were all friendly and speaks english. They have great services such as massages, and heated pool. The outside of the hotel looks very moderate, but inside the hotel and room, we were pleasantly surprised. Our room was a great size, up to date and very clean. There lobby has free access to WIFI and the rooms have free access to the internet via ethernet. This is a great oasis for a calm relaxing getaway.

Finalement on n'y a pas passé la nuit du tout. Sur le site les photos étaient intéressante en plus de ses 4 étoiles et le SPA. Ce sont ces points qui nous ont attiré à le réserver. Sauf qu'après quelques heures de routes, on a découvert un hôtel perdu au milieu de nul part, on a dû attendre 10min environ à la réception avant d'avoir quelqu'un de froid. On monte dans la chambre, ça sentait mauvais le tabac froid, c'était 2 lits individuels même pas assemblés pour un couple en voyage amoureux, même pas de SPA qui était sur rendez-vous 24h à l'avance. Cet hôtel était à peine équivalent à un IBIS en France. nous y sommes restés 15min le temps du constat et avons préféré partir sur Strasbourg. Vous avons donc perdu 119€ payé à l'avance par internet. Nous garderons un très mauvais souvenir de cet hôtel.

Det verkar som att hotellet är byggt under 90-talet. Sedan dess verkar de inte uppgraderat något alls. Det är ingen Air-coindition på rummen, under vår vistelse var det över 35 grader varmt och det var mycket svårt att få sval temperatyr på rummet. Frukosten var ok, men verkligen inte något extra. I tillägg bad vi om tips på vad vi kunde göra i Gengenbach en eftermiddag, receptionisten tipsade oss om turistbyrån, hon målade upp på en karta. Problemet var bara att den var stängd när vi kom fram. Detta kunde hon informerat om. Detta är säkerligen ett av de bättre alternativen i Gengenbach, mitt förslag är att undvika Gengenbach. Med tanke på vilket pris de tar ut går det verkligen att hitta mer prisvärda alternativ.

Das Hotel ist ein etwas in die Jahre gekommenes Gebäude mit dem Charme der 70er oder 80er Jahre. Zwar ist alles sehr sauber und gut gepflegt, jedoch könnte das Haus wieder einmal eine Erneuerung vertragen. Leider liegt das Haus an einer Umgehungsstraße und in einem Industriegebiet. Also nichts für Schwarzwaldromantiker sondern eher für Geschäftsreisende die hier ünernachten müssen.

Die Zimmer waren überraschenderweise sehr gross und super ausgerüstet. Die Angestellten waren immer freundlich und zuvorkommend. Mit der ÖV-Karte konnte man super die Umgebung erkunden, und zum Bahnhof oder in die Dorfmitte war es zu Fuss gar nicht weit. Ich kann dieses Hotel nur empfehlen.

Modernes Hotel - gute Lage
Schönes Zimmer, freundliches Personal, gutes Frühstücksbuffet, netter Schwimmbadbereich (inkl. Sauna). Das Hotel hat die perfekte Lage um Teile des Schwarzwaldes zu erkunden und man kann direkt zu Fuß in den schönen Ort Gengenbach (5 Min.) gehen.

Neues Hotel in der Nähe von Gengenbach. Der Ort ist fußläufig in ca. 10 Minuten entlang der Kinzig zu erreichen. Hotel in ruhiger Lage, gut geeignet für Wanderungen und Städtereisen. Rezeption sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit, unser Zimmer hell und groß mit Balkon, man fühlt sich im Hotel wohl.

Nous sommes assez deçu de cette éscale, heureusement que celle-ci ne depassait pas la simple nuit car sinon nous aurions changer d etablissement quitte à perdre une nuit. Le personnel est acceuillant, mais la chambre (sans lit deux places) nous à donné des frissons, difficile à expliqué le sentiment de malaise que ma compagne et moi avons ressenti dans cette chambre(ma compagne n à pas voulu eteindre la lumiere cette nuit la), entre autres démangeaisons, insomnies, le savon était vide et les 3 tableaux au mur representant des clowns d assez mauvais goût. Heureusement que nous avions des haribo sur l oreiller . . .

Im Zuge der internationalen Hundeausstellung haben wir mit Hund in diesem Hotel übernachtet. Besonders ist uns der sehr freundliche Service der Mitarbeiter aufgefallen. Darauf wird anscheinend ein besonderes Augenmerk gelegt, dass merkt man sofort. Die grossen Zimmer sind sehr sauber. Wenn hier kein Teppich wäre, dann wäre es perfekt. Auch aus hygienischen Gründen und natürlich auch wegen den Allergischen Problemen vieler Leute. Frühstück war sehr lecker und reichhaltig und am Abend auch zu empfehlen. Kostenlose Parkplätze waren auch mit ein Grund für dieses Hotel. Alles in allem sehr zu empfehlen! Wir kommen gerne wieder.

CONFORTABLE MAIS PAS EXCEPTIONNEL
Nous avons passé deux nuits dans cet hôtel réservé pour sa proximité avec Europa-Park (les hotels étant tous complets sur place) et la piscine. Je garde un bon souvenir de ce séjour mais n'y allez pas pour une escapade romantique. Le personnel ne parle pas du tout français, dommage compte-tenu de la proximité avec la France (30 min de Strasbourg). Nous avions réservé pour une chambre double avec baignoire ou douche et la chambre qu'on nous a attribué était une chambre avec deux lits simples et une douche donc un peu déçus. La chambre est spacieuse et la petite loggia a été utile pour fumer! Côté propreté rien à dire, en revanche pour ce qui est de la déco, c'est loin d'être très glamour, façon Ibis pas rénové avec meubles en "bois". L'espace piscine était pas mal mais le sol pas très clean et la piscine hyper chlorée. Plus de lumière dans le sauna le 2e jour donc on s'est rabattu sur le hammam. Le petit déjeuner est bien fourni même si pas trop de notre goût (beaucoup de charcuterie) on a quand même réussi à trouver des petits croissants et des gâteaux. En résumé un bon séjour mais ne vous attendez pas à des prestations de luxe!
