Surrounded by forest, looking onto the Great Smoky Mountains, and with delightful amenities such as an outdoor hot tub, an indoor jetted tub, and a stone fireplace, Bear Hugs will have you in the mood for romance—or relaxation. Yet, while the log cabin feels tucked away from it all, it’s hardly remote. Downtown Gatlinburg, with its entertainment, shopping, and restaurants, is only a five-minute car ride away. The main entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park is also just a short drive away, as are golf courses, Dollywood, Rocky Top Sports World, and so much more. You’ll be delighted by Bear Hugs as soon as you pull up into the drive. A true log cabin with a chalet-style cathedral ceiling, it rises on stilts to offer spectacular views of the Smokies from the deck that spans the width of the house. The deck has a 4 person spa that overlooks the Smoky Mountains! The interior of Bear Hugs is just as inviting as the exterior. The wood floor, walls, and ceiling cocoon you with warmth and charm. Guests will enjoy the quality leather furnishings, original art, antique persian rug, 50 inch HDTV with cable, and a cozy fire on those chilly days and evenings! Of course Bear Hugs has internet access! The comfortable leather living room sofa converts into a bed for two with a memory foam mattress, so that the house can sleep up to four people in all. The hand-crafted dining table seats four people as well. You can look out the large windows to the mountains as you enjoy your meal, so that you’ll almost feel as if you’re dining alfresco. The kitchen is equipped with all new stainless steel appliances, coffee maker, cookware, and tableware. Should you want to barbecue, there’s a charcoal grill outside as well. Among other conveniences, the cabin has its own washer and dryer, so you can both pack light and return home with a suitcase full of clean clothes (isn’t having to do laundry as soon as you get back the worst?). The master suite is on the main level along with the living/dining area and the kitchen. Decorated in the same comfortably rustic style as the rest of the home, the suite includes a king-size bed, a TV, and a bathroom complete with jetted tub. When you arrive you’ll find the bed freshly made and laundered towels ready and waiting, so if you want to unwind with a bath or a nap as soon as you arrive, you can. There’s a half bath upstairs on the loft level, convenient if you have overnight guests. Also upstairs is a pool table and commercial arcade that operates without any quarters! Great for rainy days! The cabin is in a great area. It could use a good deep cleaning—Cob webs in the kitchen on the chandelier and ceiling fan. The silverware in the drawer was dirty. Windows need to be cleaned. The ones in the living room had terrible splatters all over them. We specifically booked a cabin with a hot tub. We were ready for some relaxation. We were unable to use it with all of the scum build up. It was nasty.The shower wasn't clean. The shower head was nasty—cob webs along the ceiling in the shower. We couldn't play pool, the pool sticks are terrible. The table itself needs to be replaced ( no cushion on the side). It could be a great place but it needs a few updates. It was absolutely perfect for the two of us. The hot tub, arcade, and pool table were a nice bonus. We did have a bear get in our car. Close to everything. ##### Jennifer C. The hot tub had a pump out, so only half the jets worked. We did have a total of 5 bears come up to the cabin. Very cool, but completely frightening. Love the wildlife, just not right behind you, lol. Thank goodness for the motion detector light, which did give us a few seconds notice when 3 bears walked up at night. Too bad the others were during the day. Would recommend! This says I can upload photos, but it won't let me. Otherwise we had a few of the bears. ##### Susan M.
