This is especially true of ladybugs, a beneficial species here, and their look-alike cousins, the Asian Beetle. We take every precaution and employ a monthly pest prevention program with a licensed exterminator. Regardless, you may still encounter them and other small insects or critters in or around the home. Bear activity tends to be high in the area. Guests are thrilled to see them in the wild. But, don't mistake them for being tame; never approach a bear (it is illegal) and be sure to not do anything to attract them! Definitely do not leave out trash or food, especially in your vehicles. We utilized all 8 bedrooms (and a sofa bed), and really enjoyed the hot tub, pool table, and 2 decks overlooking the mountains. Priceless views. The house is conveniently located near the National Park and 3 miles from Gatlinburg. The kitchen is well equipped, the communication timely and responsive. We also used the South Baden pool several days, which is a nice facility. The home has 3 levels and a good deal of steps, but it’s manageable, and allows for some separation and privacy.
