We were surprised at the visit of a bear each evening. He is quite a celebrity. The locked garbage cans on the property kept him from coming up the hill to make a mess and for that I was grateful. The kitchen is stocked, but not for a large group. There weren’t large commercial bowls, enough plates for our party or things needed to serve over 70 people. I had checked on that before our stay, but our idea of a “fully stocked kitchen for a large party” was quite different from Vacasa. It was impossible to make some of the meals we had planned as there weren’t commercial-sized griddles, mixing bowls, etc. We made it work, but actual the commercial sized kitchen items we expected were not provided. If you’re cooking for 45 or more people, prepare to bring your own large bowls, roasting pans, etc. Not a big deal, but I would have prepared differently if I had known. Our only major complaint is the partying around us that didn’t seem to be taken care of. I called Vacasa Smokies twice and although the staff cared and seemed to make attempts, nothing changed. Loud music from the next door guests played until well past 2am all 3 nights of our stay. We were told that the police were called but nothing changed the behavior of our neighbors. That was very disappointing. We were on a professional retreat and my team was not able to be refreshed or well rested. The local maintenance team was great. They addressed a blown fuse and were prompt with assistance. Hospitable and friendly. ##### Rachael/Keith A.
