Mother bear and 4 cubs visits. The Escape from Reality lodge is a luxurious cabin that begins with a stunning great room with a large fireplace. The “to dream about” kitchen is complete with all stainless steel appliances, a huge island, and granite throughout the cabin. All rooms are huge in this cabin, including 2 spacious master bathrooms with stone dual showers. This cabin sleeps 12 people with a King, 2 Queen beds and 3 Queen sofa beds. Many guests have commented on how comfortable the beds are. There are 5 smart HD TVs, one in each bedroom, the game room and a 4K TV in the great room. Bring your computers and stay connected with free high-speed 500MPS internet. There is a bedroom, bathroom and covered decks on all 3 levels. The large deck includes a swing set, a 9 foot picnic table with end seats and a gas grill. A unique mountain amenity is that this cabin has clean city water. Note that all inside surfaces are wiped down with a disinfectant after each stay. Child friendly with games and a high chair. The game room includes a new Foosball game, pool table, dart board, a large fireplace, and corn hole on the deck. After competing, relax in the new 7 person deluxe hot tub, complete with a waterfall jet and watch the amazing wildlife nearby. My favorite thing to do is sit on the deck and listen to the calming sound of strong rapids of a stream right behind the property. This family friendly cabin is located at the Cobbly Nob resort, which is 12 miles from Gatlinburg. It's located in a private mountain community that sits on 1000 acres right next to the Smoky Mountain National Park. The Cobbly Nob amenities include 3 outdoor pools at different locations , a golf course and a new "All Most Heaven" wedding chapel at the top of the mountain. New Pickleball courts and the new Timber Ridge Pool with a connecting park opened in 2024\. The Gatlinburg Community Center is only 6 miles away. This facility is perfect during the winter months. There's a large indoor swimming pool, bowling alley, racquetball court, pool table, ping pong table, fitness area and gymnasium with many basketball courts. The fee for the pool and bowling alley is only $3. The Bent Creek Golf course is a short 2 miles down the mountain. A fantastic river for trout fishing and scenic hiking trails are only 7 miles away. This was the best cabin we had stayed in. Fully equipped with plenty of items a family would need to stay here. Crockpots, griddles, blenders, grill, George Foreman grill, seasonings big pots etc. I have a large family and would be able to cook for everyone. Plenty to play with too-pool table arcade, blocks, darts etc. Hot tub was BIG!! Even an air mattress if needed. John was easily accessible if needed. Location was perfect with a relaxing forest/Mountain View. We saw bear families almost every day!! Communication with the owner was great from reservation through checkout. We arrived at the cabin on the first day and a mama bear and her cubs were waiting for us. We waited in the car for them to move on a safe distance and got plenty of video and pics. In over 40 years of coming to Gatlinburg I had never seen a bear in the wild. Our kids will no doubt remember this for the rest of their lives. We unloaded and everything was as described or better. We were back and forth between several cabins before settling on this one and our 10 year old twins were bummed that we didn’t choose the cabin with the full size video game system. Imagine their surprise (and ours!) when we found a full size video game system loaded with hundreds of games for them to play. Additionally, this cabin has the only perfectly flat pool table I’ve ever had in a cabin I’ve rented. All of our kids got much better at pool over a few days and they loved the foosball table as well. Bedrooms and bathrooms were large and comfortable, kitchen had everything you could need, and the hot tub was terrific. This cabin wasn’t advertised as having great mountain views and it doesn’t. However, you feel like you’re secluded even though there are other cabins nearby. Even without the views we enjoyed spending time on the decks. I’d definitely stay here again. ##### Jeremy L. Fully enjoyed the spaciousness, and fully stocked kitchen, bathrooms…..so much to do there you don’t even really need to leave! Large capacity hot tub, cornhole, pool, pinball, foosball, darts, grill, plenty of outside seating! Detailed area directions and tips/tricks in a binder right inside, access to 3 pools in resort area…..beautiful views!!! I can’t rave enough and this is my 5th cabin rental. Owner is extremely nice…..oh, and the cabin is also stocked with strollers! They have literally thought of everything! Well worth the money and travel! The property is tucked back on a mountaintop with great views and we were provided with everything we needed. We were even entertained by a mama bear and her 3 cubs while we were there :) We will be making a trip back in the near future! Highly Recommend! ##### Michelle B. This was our 1st time to the Smokey Mountains and we did not want to leave. The drive up the mountain was a bit intimidating but we tackled with no problems! We had one small issue with the master shower draining, but the property manager jumped right on it and had it fixed by the time we returned from our adventures the next day. The road to the house is quite steep if you aren't used to driving in the mountains, but it is well maintained and completely manageable. I would definitely stay here again!! ##### Lindsey C.
