"We had a great time in this house. Very good privacy with a nice view to the country. The pool is great for adults but not safe for small kids. The owner was always available when needed and very helpful. It's good to know you are not alone when in a remote place like this. One thing I appreciated was the stone finishings in the bathrooms, nice touch. The house and surroundings are beautiful. There were some wasps by the time we were there in September, but they did not bother us too much. The access is a dirt road and is safe to go with a normal car, no big holes there. Great to recharge batteries. Hope to come back soon."

"It is difficult to add much to all the other reviews, other than to say that they are absolutely right - this really is an idyllic place.The setting is wonderful, surrounded by beautiful Alentejo countryside, with amazing views and a sense of peace and tranquillity that is very special. The cottage itself is full of character, beautifully decorated with a very rustic feel. It feels wonderfully secluded, yet Cercal is close enough for shops, restaurants and anything else you might need, and there are some fantastic beaches within easy reach.We cannot speak highly enough of António. He was incredibly friendly and welcoming and gave us some excellent recommendations for places to visit. The bottle of delicious Alentejo red wine waiting for us when we arrived was a lovely touch - as was the bowl of freshly hand-picked figs he gave us when we left!And a special mention for the outdoor shower - absolutely perfect after a hot day at the beach.We genuinely loved our stay here. A beautiful, peaceful and very special place that we would recommend without hesitation - and can't wait to return to."

"This property is a little oasis hidden away. While a bit tricky to get to as you have to drive on unpaved roads, it's worth it once you get there. The room had everything we needed, and the breakfast was wonderful and included local products. The location is quite rural, however, the closest town (Ourique) was only a 15 minute drive away. It's not a big town by any means, but there were a few restaurant options and a Pingo Doce and an Aldi for groceries. The only thing preventing this from being a 5 star stay was the atmosphere during our stay due to other guests. There happened to be a large family who booked during the same time as us and they completely took over the pool area. As the location is in such a quiet area and there isn't a ton to do, we were looking forward to sitting by the beautiful pool and relaxing in the afternoon. That was tainted by children screaming and jumping into the pool, in addition to them bringing a speaker and playing loud music for hours. They were having a good time and the property is family friendly so perhaps our fault for not inquiring, but if you're looking for a quiet getaway, this may not be the place to book. While it wasn't the stay we were hoping for, the staff and accommodation itself was wonderful."
