Very nice lobby/restaurant areas, our room was spacious and clean… we just found it had no personality. But, it does the job for sure. There was no coffee machine in room so, upon leaving in the morning, we asked if it would be possible to have a couple of coffees to go, we were told, “yes of course”- then, we were asked to pay 13£ for them… if you don’t have a coffee machine in the rooms, at least have complimentary coffee in the lobby. It’s a small thing that goes a long way.

The stay was amazing, though it was just a one day trip. But in my opinion the hotel and the service of the hotel is absolutely brilliant. The location is also very near by the city. Highly recommend.

Excellent all round, Hotel was lovely and very festive, food fantastic, the staff, all we met were so pleasant, could not do enough for us, very helpful, friendly and time to say hello. we had a lovely stay, we come for longer next time.

Our room was clean and comfortable, the breakfast was yummy and staff was friendly. One employee at breakfast gave me an excellent suggestion for a cafe to get tea at later (bonus points was the cafe also had a cat and the employee didn’t even know I’m a cat lady lol)

Staff were superb. Receptionists were really knowledegable and helpful about local area/night life and we were VERY specfic in our demands ("QUIET music pub, not too crowded etc" ;-) ). Room was good size and bed large and comfortable, firm mattress. Wifi signal very good (no drop out). Nice powerful hot shower although hot water from taps was too cold for a safe wet-shave and had to boil a couple of kettles. "Greenwashing" with the eco credentials though. Had the customary "use your towels sparingly" signs and the communal shampoos/soap etc but then no separate sorting of waste for recycling so obviously just a ploy to save them money rather than any real environmental concerns. Food was good quality but vegetarian choice was poor. The staff were AGIN very accommodating and happy to kept us just order sides as a main course. One issue was that we paid for our evening meal at the bar but then it was also on the bill at check-out. Quickly resolved however as we had the evidence but probably best to ensure you get a receipt when buying food/drinks. Breakfast was not great. The orange juice was vile and probably the worst I have ever tasted. Poor choice for veggies again with no "options" and no porridge. They had Barry's Tea at breakfast though - a bit of a shame they did not provide the same brand in the rooms.
