Staff was rude and mentioned during checkin that heat will be off from 12-6 am. When asked them to give this in writing they said that they told us that if we need heat we need to tell them. This was not true. They never mentioned this during check in. Also the behavior was not really professional.

We arrived early and the staff presented as annoyed that we came to the hotel despite us not needing the room immediately. The staff’s attitude did not change throughout our stay. We felt as though our stay was inconvenient for her.

Wifi was not very good in my room. That was my chief complaint about my stay here. Location is good. 12 minute walk to city center. Stay was OK. Didn’t try the breakfast so can’t comment.

Location not good
I had a hard time locating the place. the room clean but too cold. The heater went off on midnight and there was no way to turn back on. The room is too small too. No close restaurant to eat nearby.

Happy in Galway
We stayed one night; nice welcome; very convenient to Galway city centre. Continental breakfast was available (not the full Irish breakfast) but we were quite happy with that.

Great staff
Pros: staff did all they possibly could do for you. 15 minutes walk to heart of town. Room clean and odor free. Nice continental breakfast 4 euros. Cons: tiny room. Bathroom small. Well worn B and B. Not worth even half of what we paid.

Heating on auto, so would heat up for around 4 hours prior to sleeping, which both nights we stayed was far too warm. It seemed to be on very hot until about 11pm. In the morning when needed, it couldn’t be turned on. Not enough working powerpoints. Shower pressure was non-existent. Apart from that, bed was comfortable and room clean. Only a 15 minute stroll into the heart of Galway. Car parking - right out the front. Location on the east side of town and extremely simple to find if coming from the Wild Atlantic Way, as we did (from the Cliffs of Moher).

The young couple who served as our hosts were wonderful. They were very attentive and helpful. They always helped us with our bags. They helped us get bus information. Very good hosts. We recommend this property.

the lodge managers, Philippe and his wife, are super friendly, welcoming and hardworker. they have great hospitality and service. they made our staying in Galway outstanding memory.

Just What We Needed
We chose the Abbey Lodge because of the location. It was in a quick 12 min walk to town. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. We had read the reviews about having to pay extra for the continental breakfast, so we just had breakfast at a cafe in town instead. We were extremely happy!

Paid 125 Euro for bed and breakfast as I thought but found out in the morning there was no breakfast only cereal tea And toast for 4 EURO each extra.

Nice, pleasant, clean but breakfast awful!
Room was good, clean, warm & comfortable. Access to room was good, house was quiet and staff was friendly and very approachable. The only problem we had was the breakfast was awful, it was crammed on a small plate, the rashers and sausages were very tough ... to be honest I think the breakfast was microwaved. We still had the taste of the breakfast in our mouths at 5pm that afternoon and it wasn't pleasant. Really very disappointed in that aspect of our stay! We would stay again but would not get the breakfast. It is situated very close to the centre of town where all night life is and that part of our stay was brilliant ... Parking was a bit tight but managable, the outside entrance is inviting and welcoming. We were disappointed that we weren't greeted at some time of our stay by the owners, we feel a Bed & Breakfast is a more homely environment and the owners should have been there. The owner did answer the phone when I called for directions, so he must have been there but didn't appear at any stage during our stay. Overall our stay was pleasant and enjoyable. We did have a good time and for that reason we would return there but definitely NOT for the breakfast which cost €8 each.

Short stop
It was a decent guesthouse for the price ee paid. The owner and staff was very attentive and offered their help all the time. Were even surptised when we opted for breakfast in the morning but only had coffee and croissant instead of any hot meal. I would recommend it for a budget short term stay. Otherwise it is very basic. Bathroom requires an update it is too old for modern standards. Everything was very clean though.

Nice clean room, good breakfast, and just a 10-15 minute walk into town. The host was very helpful and was able to book us a Cliffs of Moher tour that picked us up at the front door. Would definitely stay here again.

Quaint guesthouse near the centre of Galway!
We stayed here for 1 night over the Easter break, it was just what we needed for our short stay, not too far from town - about a 10 minute stroll. Located directly next to the rugby and hounds stadium. The rooms are comfortable and clean and the service is friendly. Would definitely stay here again!

Perfect, if you just want something simple.
Great B&B. Room was very tidy and spacious, with heating already on when we arrived. Free tea and coffee in the room, and even a tiny welcomes chocolates on the bed, which I haven't seen in many places. Host was very friendly and processed everything very quickly. There was also free parking available. Area was nice and quiet and only a 15 min walk to the city center. Full Breakfast the next morning until 10am for only €8. Definitely good value for money overall. The only "complaint" I have is that the tv was very high on the wall and hurt my neck a little when I was lying on the bed watching for a few mins, but that's extremely minor. Overall, a great place. Would book again.

Good if you are in town for a day or so but ....
If you are in the city for a day or two, this place is good. But there is nothing to do nearby. I was there for couple weeks and stayed the first half in the city where there are tons of things to do, walk around, eat, drink and so on. I wished I had stayed in the city.

Very small rooms.
Room was tiny for two people. There was no wifi. Free parking which was great. Good location but so many bnb on the strip. The woman who took care of the place was very nice and helpful.
