Salty Mermaid- Gorgeous 2BR/2BA. Recently Remodeled. Pet Friendly \*\*\*Construction is ongoing at the Maravilla. This unit is not located in a construction area and view is not affected by current construction!\*\*\* Great views! Sister condo to the Dancing Mermaid for that large family and friends get together. Washer & Dryer in unit. Coastal relaxing colors and decor. Unit sleeps 6 with two kings beds and overhead twins (bunks) in the secondary bedroom. Beautiful open kitchen with breakfast bar and all of the amenities of home including full size appliances......even a wine rack to store your evening enjoyment. The kitchen is fully stocked with dinnerware, pots & pans, glasses, coffee maker (both drip and Keurig) and cooking utensils. Towels and sheets are provided by our partner linen service. There may be some variations in furnishings or decor since pictures were taken. The property has wonderful amenities to discover and enjoy while staying at Salty Mermaid. Three pools (one of which is heated), a hot tub, poolside grills, picnic tables, chaise loungers and poolside seating...as well as a volleyball area...all in a relaxing tropical setting. Additional outdoor activities include ping-pong and bean bag toss. Due to the ongoing construction and in the interest of Safety, the Maravilla business office will be located in unit 121\. This is where you will need to go to pay your parking. A parking fee must be paid to Maravilla office upon arrival. The office does not accept cash. Parking Rules and prices are as follows: 1) Parking Rates will be set at $10.00 per car per day PLUS Sales tax 2) Trailers (Motorcycle) will be charged the same rate as cars and are limited to special event weekends such as Biker Rally Weekend. No other time are trailers of any sort allowed to be parked at Maravilla. 3) Per day rates will be capped after $70.00 per 30 day time period, and the per day rate will start over again on the 31st day. Galveston is an amazing and fun community! There are so many different things to do and see...there truly is something for everyone. Within walking distance of Dancing Mermaid, you'll find go-carts and miniature golf, fishing and dining at Jimmy's on the Pier, batting cages, and our local movie theater. Moody Gardens Golf Course is located nearby, as is the entire Moody Gardens experience and our world-famous waterpark, Schlitterbahn. In town, enjoy one of many fabulous restaurants that offer everything from fine dining to international cuisine to some of the best burgers around. If shopping is your thing, visit The Strand and Post Office where quaint shops and art galleries abound. You won't want to miss Mod Coffeehouse or Hey, Mikey's Ice Cream! The Grand 1894 Opera House offers some of the best entertainment and shows in Texas, featuring headliners from across the country, as well as an historic setting for live theatre. And, we love our festivals and special events here in Galveston! Mardi Gras, Lone Star Biker Rally, Dickens on the Strand, and the numerous triathlons, marathons and walk-a-thons are popular events throughout the year. Bird watching, kayaking, and fishing of all kinds round out the many outdoor activities enjoyed by both locals and visitors alike. We welcome our guests and work diligently to make their experience at Salty Mermaid memorable. However, we only rent to adults over the age of 25 and families. Maravilla is one of only a few "pet friendly" properties in Galveston. Home is dog friendly for up to 2 pets. $100.00 non-refundable fee for the 1st pet and $50 non-refundable fee for the 2nd pet. 25lb limit. No cats allowed. Guest must contact our office prior to arrival to make arrangements for payment of pet fee and/or signature on a pet addendum.. We do ask that all property rules regarding pets are strictly followed. Guests' "Bucket List" of suggested items to bring will be provided upon reservation confirmation. Photo identification is required. We have stayed at other Maravilla condos but this one was by far our favorite. Spacious, kitchen well equipped, laundry essentials. Spacious, clean, well decorated, and the deck is AMAZING. Beds were comfy. The location is great, easy access to everything Galveston has to offer. The pool was fun and refreshing. The only thing I can suggest is that the kitchen could be better appointed. There were only 2 coffee mugs in the cabinet, but there were 5 of us. Easy to check in, lots of parking options and the place was SUPER clean. It has all the basics plus items for the beach. Having the washer and dryer onsite helps us pack lighter. The property is well maintained, clean, safe and they have a security walking around on site. The heated pool is great for kids! Our daughter attends a summer day camp in Galveston every summer and this is a comfortable and clean place with a great location for us. We are able to work from the condo while she's at camp and then we all get in the pool at the end of the day. They are still doing construction on the complex and only one elevator was working when we were there but that was only a pain on the first and last day of our stay when we were unpacking or packing. Love the tall ceilings and bunk beds were a hit for our small daughters! Would have been nice to have a cross walk closer by so not playing Frogger to get to the ocean! Pet friendly is a plus. There is an above unit that was loud when walking or rolling toys beware! Great to have hot tub and heated pool since was chilly. We wish the pool would open before 10am.The TVs in bunk beds and lights on stairs to bunk beds not working. Both bathroom sinks have reverse temperatures. Both showers had poor to no water pressure. Shower closest to laundry had no in between temperature, either hot or cold. Ice makers was producing a white powder so just pulled straight out of freezer. Need glass plates to use microwave. The entire building needs to be redone as it is outdated. Tacky that there is a massive dumpster in the middle of parking lot near the building—should put in corner instead. And would have been helpful to know there is a beach wagon, chairs, umbrella, and beach toys for guests. But hey it was really nice! ##### John B. We stayed in this unit for 10 days with another couple and enjoyed our time here. The "welcome" cooler bag and goodies from the management company was an unexpected and much appreciated surprise! Check in and out was a breeze as well. The location can't be beat! We really enjoyed having the beach directly across the street and the beach chairs, umbrella and beach wagon provided in the unit were AWESOME!! We just loaded up the wagon and popped across the street. \*BOOM\* Beach day with very little effort! The good - excellent air conditioning (a godsend coming in from 100+ outdoor temps!), HUGE indoor and outdoor space, updated decor and comfy beds. The complex itself is a little rundown, but is undergoing some much needed major renovations. Totally expected for a building subjected to the ocean and salty air. A couple of "creature comfort" suggestions - provide more paper products (toilet paper, paper towels) and floor mats or throw rugs for sandy feet. We really appreciated all the little touches (blankets for the living room, beach towels). We vacationed in July and didn't use the deck very much, but we would love to go back in the fall or spring because the deck was just amazing. It would be so lovely to have coffee or dinner out there. My only criticism was that the water pressure in the master shower was not very good. Everything else was perfect. The condo had everything we needed and was very comfortable. We were able to work from the condo while our daughter was at camp and then had a great time in the pool every evening. Had issues with primary bedroom being too warm since the upper windows do not have blinds or curtains. Sunny all week and the sun made the room warmer than the rest of the condo. To get the primary room cooled down we had to lower the thermostat which caused the rest of the condo to be very cold. Minor issues like towel hooks falling off the doors and sink faucet handles falling off but all in all the stay was very nice. The condo is decorated well and there is plenty of room for a family. Towels, blankets, and beach items are all supplied. Washer dryer in the unit was very convenient having a toddler and after many trips to the pool. We visited the pool daily. Will stay at this condo again in the future. Mgt. should consider blinds for upper windows and black out curtains for lower windows. ##### Ladena B.
