Close to trails and an amazing sculpture park we explored over 2 days, a close drive to the ferry terminal and whale watching expeditions. We hit a snag with the property being ready, but the owner was very easy to communicate with and fixed the issue quickly and to our satisfaction. The kitchen was well equipped, and many toiletries were provided in the bathroom. A few areas for improvement that are by no means dealbreakers… The outdoor trash cans were nearly overflowing from prior guests. This resulted in us having to do some Tetris-like stacking with our trash. The arm chairs in the living room had multiple holes in them. The throw pillows on the couch, and the pillows on the beds, were quite stained. There is no AC, and the weather was rather warm when we visited. The beautiful windows that allow the incredible views also turn the house into a hot greenhouse when it’s sunny. We couldn’t leave one of the largest windows open to air out the house because it was missing a screen and yellow jackets kept flying inside. Some additional fans and screens on all the windows that open would be helpful. Overall we enjoyed our stay, and would recommend this place to someone looking for a quiet retreat with excellent views close to Roche Harbor.
